This won't be temporary for me. This is gonna be permanent. I couldn't care less about badges and shit and DLCs.

what performance? I'm getting better performance running it locally dufus. I don't need to wait for the script to finish downloading whenever I run chrome at the start.

Badges, I agree. But DLCs... what is that? You mean the automatic filtering of DLC for games you don't own? Because that's working just fine in this version.

No other differences, it is the latest steamgifts-plus.js only the insert method is local instead of from google.

For the Firefox users with Greasemonkey:
1) Copy code from a link above
2) Extras->Greasemonkey->new Script
3) Name: test; namespace=steamgiftsplus; use for steamgifts.com/*, click OK
4) Delete everything in the next window and paste code from 1), save
5) Refresh site

For those which SG+A doesn't work, check the alternative host at the SG+A thread.

What is "extras"? I don't see anything like that in Firefox.

Sorry, I'm an oldschool-menu user. Right-click at free space in the top of FF and tick "menu bar". (You can untick it later)

Right-clicking doesn't bring up an option for a menu bar. I tried using the "alt" key to bring up a menu though. However, that menu doesn't have an extras section...

Thank you for this. Although I don't use Tampermonkey, I was able to use SquishedPotatoe's code as a user script. I had been doing a similar route as your code (including jQUery and jQueryUI as part of the code directly), but like you, quickview was not working with my route.

Hotfix for the "it's prompting me everytime":

  • Go to the Greasemonkey settings:(under tools->Greasemonkey->Userscript settings (?!)) and edit the script:
  • Replace the first paragraph with this
  • Under Greasemonkey it should look like this now: Usersetting and Scriptsetting

I don't know if the GitHub site is meant to be the main development site (if there even is a dev site) but I submitted some code (as an "issue") on the GitHub page about the jerkiness with the slide-down boxes. Hopefully you can add it or mod it into something useful.

Its not working for me (Firefox 25).

Please don't suggest all the other methods to get it working because I have already tried them and none of them have worked.

I've gone to the point where I removed it and tried to reinstall it but I get this message when trying to put it back in.

The download worked, no error messages. But the script is still not working.

No error messages at all.
I have no script, but I have allowed all the sites.

I even retried the method mentioned in the OP

Still nothing. :(

I didn't realize just how much I relied on steamgifts plus to make viewing the website that much easier and better. lol

Not sure if I understand what you mean:
Disable NoScript and refresh, if it's working then, you need to whiltelist steamgifts and the sgplus alternative on googlecode.
If you just have no script, then take a look into your greasemoneky userscripts, disallow and remove all old scripts and then allow the SGPlus alternative after a restart.

Disabled noscript and adblock. Checked to see if there was any other user scripts other then the one I put in from above and there is not and its still not working for me.

I do have a large number of addons for my firefox but before it was switched to another site it had no issues.

Even after the first initial switch, it was working fine (my thank you is even on the first page at the bottom). Then as far as I know there was a couple of updates to the script and thats when the issues with it not working started.

I have a second system, I will try it on there and then if it still does not work I will disable all the plugins on that and see if it works then. That system has less addons then my main system.

Ok I tried it on another computer, installed it from the link you gave above. I didn't alter it in any way and that system did not have any scripts on it at all just addons. I even had to install greasemonkey.

I first tried it with the addons active and it didn't work. I then tried it with all the addons except greasemonkey disabled and again it didn't work.

Both systems are running Windows 7, one is 64bit one is 32bit. Both have Firefox 25.

I've tried everything I can think of on my end but still can't get it working.

Are there any steps you want me to try to get it working or help narrow down the issue?

Well, it runs on my 2nd computer too, that has Windows 7 x64 with FF 25 too. So i'm fairly sure that it works, SimonSays below said it works too. I just installed Greasemonkey (if you have it already, remove all old scripts) and click the link, it should say something like: "I'm a userscript. I work with steamgifts.com*, click install!" Then refresh the site. Nothing more, nothing less.
What does it say if you go into the scripts settings?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Ok now it gets stranger.

I removed all the scripts (there was only 1 thing and that was the one you linked earlier.

I did this...
Copy code from a link above
Tools->Greasemonkey->New User Script
Name: test; namespace=steamgiftsplus; use for steamgifts.com/*, click OK
Delete everything in the next window and paste code from 1), save
Refresh site

but instead of copying your code from this link....
http://pastebin.com/ZvmD7Y0W "Copy this code"

I copied the code from...
http://pastebin.com/Gh3eqEdD "this one done by SquishedPotatoe"

The code from SquishedPotatoe worked like a charm first try. I'll retry your code later to see if that was the issues.

thanks, i wonder if there was a security update that broke greasemonkey scripts adding a script tag to the document, because firefox wasn't loading the github or google code script for me at all according to firebug. i edited the greasemonkey script and pasted in the actual code from github instead of the code that adds a link to it, and now i'm back in business. i may look into the greasemonkey issue further

This temporary fix was for users who received 404 errors for google code, your installer points right back to the very thing they couldn't reach. Steamgifts plus alternative has posted thier version on github for people with this issue.

Can you add to games custom filter: to exclude games, not entering the whole game name, but which contains only one word
For example: I wanna to exclude all games containing word: KING, MAGICKA or elese?
