Red Rogue Don't know much about this game other than it's fun.
Also, it's browser based so no need for a download.

Been a while since I played any but I do remember enjoying Castlevania RL. It didn't necessarily have the most depth, but I enjoyed it. For something with a more meat I'd say go for the already mentioned ToME.

While not strictly a rogue type game, and certainly not a freebie, FTL shares a lot of common ground with the genre. It's well worth the price of admission if you haven't already got it :)

Both Dungeons of Dredmor and Binding of Isaac are great rogue likes with fantastic replay value.

Pixel Dungeon for Android. Essential if you have a droid.

I had a lot of fun with Dungeons of Dredmor (it's still being actively developed, with patches and DLCs)... if you like its humor, otherwise there are quite a lot cheap indie roguelikes around... (there was a bundle too somewhere, with like 4 or 5 roguelike games)

You can delete your character when you die. No chance of losing progress because of blackouts. Also free, unlike most of the games mentioned.

Risk of Rain. It is still under development but there is a demo on their kickstarter page which is quite fun.
