FruityLoops for starters, Cubase, Ableton and ProTools for a more advanced interface and overall better quality

Fruity Loops isn't just for starters. If you know how to proper use it, you can make quality tracks like on other programs.

Yeah sure, so you can make good tracks with any program if you know how to use it, but the FruityLoops interface is just the easiest to understand for people who haven't been into these kind of programs before.

@ OP; And like thresher3253 mentioned, Reason is a pretty good one too. Used that one for years. Can;t believe i forgot about that one.

I don't see why people think FL's interface is easy I never managed to get into it.

"Better quality"? With older Fruityloops maybe, but nowadays its' considered just as good as the rest when you use the right effects, VSTs and filters. Also, why not mention Reason?

To OP - try Fruityloops or Reason as good starting points that can teach you how to work with a sequencer. Download some video tutorials. Then you could move on to Ableton. Make sure, though, that you also watch some tutorials on mastering and frequency balance.

Fruity Loops is good and easy to use, if you are willing to study a lot of music making you can use Reason for infinite capabilities.

I highly recommend Ableton, in my opinion it's much more intiutive and user-friendly in comparison to FL or other DAW's.
Nowadays you can make quality music with most popular programs it's not about what software you use but rather how you use your software.

Reason is great for beginners, and really fun to use. Great for making loops and creating your own synth sounds. It really depends what kind of music you want to make though. Ableton has some nice instruments and Logic is easy to use, Pro Tools is pretty useless though unless you're going to be recording.

Reason is nice and the focus on hardware is something to learn from, i've quit it because of the WAV editing capabilities.. feels like a huge workaround. Nevertheless it's great material to begin with!
