And here I am again with all the nosiness you never wanted and liked.

Sitting here on my fat ass wondering just how long it took you to get to your current CV level.

Took me all of my 4 years to get to my 5.62. Hopefully I can finally get a job so I can give more back.

I feel bad that I can't. :(

Blacklists be DAMNED! I feel like asking anyway!

I've been here a year and just hit 4.96 the other day, but Humble Monthly is mostly to blame for that.

edit: also, good luck on your job search! Unemployment is so stressful TT___TT

And yes, it is stressful. Especially when all you have in experience is retail and no one seems to want to hire you without any other kind of background.

The US does truly suck.

What kind of retail experience do you have, and what sort of job are you looking for? If you don't mind sharing.

Too many years in shoe sales. And the last person that called me Al Bundy learned that I'm more like Ted Bundy.

3 years, 4 months. I am boosted by about 600 real CV right now, not sure if it is Daedalic or something else right now. But I have a full time, decently (some would say well) paid job and I keep on wondering how some users manage mid - high levels with little income. Even card farming and similar have to be paid for by electrical bill.

$5 by the right $1 Bundles and they are at level 4. I experienced that in the last 3 weeks many times. And yes it is frustrating -_-

Comment has been collapsed.

You act as if level 4 is terribly difficult to reach anyway (meaning without those $1 bundles).
It's $100 CV or two AAA giveaways. With a 75% off sale, it's $25 spent.
With one humble monthly bundle, you get sometimes get twice that much CV, and that's $12 spent.

That's really not all that much.

It is one example, of a lot of....
HB monthly give a lot of CV too but are treated special (in my eyes it is a bundle... but the rules make other ones^^).

$25 are $5 x 5 ... so $5 are 20% .... its, at least for me, a big difference if you reach anything with 20% effort or 100% (not from interest if this is money, time or whatever).

And the people that push themself this way, mostly, don't use only 5x $1 Bundles (and similar).
I am too lazy to calculate all because it will anyway bring nothing.

In my opinion, you're wasting your time and energy concerning yourself with the CV of others.
Instead of thinking how "unfair" it is, you could be appreciating the opportunities you're given and enjoy some great games.

And if after that you still insist on concerning yourself with the CV of others, perhaps you could consider that, with 90% of the people on this site not giving a single game, at least the people giving away those $1 bundles are giving away something. And out of those people, there are likely some that aren't just doing it for the CV so they can win more.

Instead of focusing on the negative aspects, you could be seeing the positive side.

I see a lot of positive sides but that sides must not be changed so a lot of talking about it is not needed.
Maybe you think that i see more negative things because when i say nothing it is, often, good (yes it is not my strongest side but i work on that).

I don't inspected your calculating very close. I take it how you say it and finish. It brings nothing to spend time to look very close because it will change nothing and the reasons why we stand on opinion will not change if the cv/$ is a bit higher or lower.

You talk from "concerning yourself with the CV of others...". I don't talked from me and my CV. You can make the calculations without any need of a user (the CV rules are enough). And i am not the only user that don't like that extreme cv farming (it give enough Threads to that thing tp prove that).

I am happy over the people that don't have much and give a $1 Bundle.
I am happy over people that give a few $1 Bundles.
I am happy over people that give a few $1 Bundles AND other things.
I am not happy over the ones that have 1k or 2k Games (a bunch of AAA Titles too) and give nothing else then a lot of $1 Bundles (+ won mostly much more then they send -the statistics show complete wrong things by the extreme cv farmers -in my opinion-).

I see every time in the archive the same users that give 5-10 copies of free stuff (at the days they are free, not a month later or whatever). They hoarded them and other people get nothing because of that behavior.
It is not from interest if i get anything... its a basic attitute how people act... when people only think on themself and all other people are not from interest then i don't like that basic attitude -that is my personal preference -like/dislike-. Not more not less.
The same users give away the $1 Bundles in a high ammount. And it is clear they do it for cv farming.
It is not because they are so generous or want do good things (it sounds as you believe that). It is in my opinion nearly every time because they think on themself (level, real cv statistic, the free games for the sending statistic) to grab more (higher level = more possibilities, good statistics = more chances).
I seen by my winners in the last 3-4 month a very big raise of the people that farm cv extremly (at the moment around 25- 35% of the winners, of my GA's, are from that direction). Only because it jumped so much up i noticed it.
And yes i think it is a hole in the system and yes i thik it is unfair that people can reach with $5 the same as other ones with $50.
Which one buy a newer AAA Titel for a giveaway when it is much cheaper to take a $1 Bundle how many many others do.? Right nearly none.
I think the way go in a wrong direction and when people talk over it can maybe anything be changed (to the one or other side, maybe only how the people thing over a situation ...). All is better then let it running quiet and hope that all go in the right direction.

Maybe you understand me now clearer. At least i hope so.

Ps.: Our first conversation that is normal. No direct attacks. No TNT Button pressed by the other one. I like it this way much more^^.

Well, unless they're breaking the rules on SG, they don't concern me.
Whatever the reason may be, they're making giveaways that someone else can win -- and I see that as a good thing.

If it were up to me, there would be no CV or levels on SG. In fact, I'd do away with the giveaway stats on everyone's profile, too. They're meaningless numbers with real people behind them. Making those numbers so important that they become a reason for judging others (good or bad) is a mistake, in my opinion.

To be fair, I've had a fair amount of keys I never used from old bundles. Better to gift them than let them go sitting around.
I don't think I can climb much after this since I've cleared most of my old keys out :')

Edit: Best of luck with finding a job. In the same boat here too.
I tried applying to the animal shelter I'm volunteering at (since they were hiring), but didn't get a reply.

Almost 6 years for my 7.41, was actually giving away more while I was still a student (first half of my being here). Dunno why, might have something to do with my raging alcoholism I have developed after employment. Anyways, thanks for your attention, going for a beer now.

Trying to reach higher levels is a waste of your time and resources. Just give for the sake of giving, and only what you can - The level will come as an extra benefit.

1 year and 44 days to reach level 5 using only bundled games, I can't afford non bundled giveaways, maybe some day in the future. :)
It will probably take me until the rest of the year to reach level 6. Depends on how Fanatical I get about it. Ba dum tss.

Took me a little over 1.5 year to get to 5000$ CV (that was 'max level' in SGv1), then I got hit hard by SGv2 (I was doing lots of puzzles - very rarely had more than a handful of solvers - and small GAs, in SGv1 you needed 2 Entries for CV, in SGv2 cg retroactively changed it to 5) and dropped to level 8.X, took me another 9 months to get back to 10.

1 year and a bit to get to level 10. Gave away a bucket load of games. But it made a lot of people happier I hope. :-)
Giving what you can is all that matters in the long run. Enjoy the climb even if the last steps seems like an eternity.

It took me about a year and a half between the time I started using SG and getting to level 7.
Unfortunately level 8 will have to wait since, due to my poor financial situation, I've mostly stopped buying games lately.

I'm still getting Humble Monthlies, and had been saving some to give away on SG all at once, but since Destiny 2 can't be given away here I tried trading it...and ended up in a bit of a mess where the trader accidentally gave me a key for Nier:Automata (which is obviously way more valuable then D2) and then after we realized the fuckup (too late) he shrugged it off and still gave me the game we were original trading for. Despite how the guy took it in stride, I still felt so bad for him that I just gave him all the HB games I'd been saving.

It's hard to tell exactly (apparently Daedalic bundles are on sale again, so my CV is inflated currently). But I think, I reached level 9 somewhere in March, so it took me a little bit more than 2 years. And no, it's totally not ok to spend this amount of money on a hobby.
