Best games that only exist for PC.

You can also mention games multiplatform games with features exclusive to PC that make them only (or much more) enjoyable on PC.

P.S.: Please, no "PCist" comments like "all games are better on PC", for example. It's repetitive and doesn't add anything. Plus, any "ism" is just sick.

Civilization series.

As I recently learned, Civ 6 is available for Android and Apple phones, PS4 (5?) and Xbox as well!
Kind of weird how much time it took to open op from PC exclusivity

Also interestingly there are console/phone exclusive civilization games as well - Civilization Revolution and Civilization Revolution 2

Aoe2 is available on console, there's a youtuber that plays exclusively with a controller and has a higher ELO than me. It's a shame that doesn't wash off.

My favorite is when a company comes out and blatantly tells folks that their skill based match-making is a flat out lie and people continue to play their game.

The best PC exclusives make enough money that they can port their games to consoles and then they no longer qualify as PC exclusives. RTS and Point & Click games often don't translate well to console. Games with excessive amounts of sex and violence often can't get approved for release on consoles but these also tend to not be very good. Nobody is paying money to keep a game exclusive to PC so most games worth playing either are not PC exclusives or they won't be for long. Early access, beta testing, and demos might be more readily available on PC for what that's worth.

It's beyond me how people can play a point and click adventure properly on a console, switch maybe some, but the rest? Heck i remember even scummvm on the GBA (imagine the tiny screen).

Seemingly a bunch made it to the switch:
1 Thimbleweed Park
2 Grim Fandango Remastered.
3 Broken Age.
4 The Last Door.
5 The Book Of Unwritten Tales 2.
6 Detective Gallo.
7 Nine Witches: Family Disruption.
8 Willy Morgan And The Curse Of Bone Town.

Telltale does a good job of making point and click games with an alternate control scheme for gamepad users. I bet many others use a similar method to theirs because it works well

As others said, many, many point and click adventure games and real time strategy games were inherently exclusive, many "AA" games from the past~2 decade as well.

Plus, any "ism" is just sick.

Yeah, down with tourism, fuck 'em >:D stupid drunk bachelor/ette parties.
We can also throw out altruism, positivism, humanism, pacifism and abolitionism.

Are all "ism" still just sick?

edit: Age of Mythology is really cool and afaik PC only. Same with Warlords Battlecry 3, they are both fun and unique strategy games.

Please, no "PCist" comments

Limiting to only PC exclusives is "PCist" by itself.

  1. Its not limited to PC exclusives.
  2. Even if it were, it would not be "PCist" by default.

Years ago PC games were vastly superior because of the hardware. One example is Need for Speed 5: Porsche Unleashed. Now, we have genres that are superior because of mouse/keyboard. I played Sniper Elite 5 recently on Xbox Cloud Gaming and it sucks to play with a controller.

Like others have mentioned before, good PC exclusives that are reasonably successful usually also make the jump to other platforms.

From the games I’ve played Apsulov: End of Gods, DiRT Rally, Wreckfest and The Forest are some examples I can recall. They all started on PC, sometimes in Early Access, but are also available on different consoles by now. Elderborn is supposed to release on consoles as well sometime in the future.

The Standalone Expansion Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun - Aiko's Choice is PC exclusive and Black Mesa will most likely also stay PC / Steam exclusive.

the only one of these i know/think isn't "exclusive" to pc is West of Loathing (switch, maybe xbox?)
i was going to mention Before Your Eyes, DDLC, Phasmophobia, Rimworld, and Smile for Me, those games were a blast to play. just makes me wonder if the DDLC remaster is exclusive to PC or if it's on consoles.

I think Driver:San Francisco...(However,for Driv3r,its predecessor,PS2 was the best platform).I think games that allow RayTracing might be played best on PC.GTAO is(was) a game that can/could be played better on PC as you can use controller for races and mouse+keyboard for the missions and stuff.
