Steam Profile and Number of Games

I'm glad they decided to do this because now it actually reflects the number of unique games in my library (214). Before this, my profile indicated that I owned 400 games; friends new to Steam would always ask me how I own so many!

yep, mine now seems to reflect the actual amount.

It seemed to change as they implemented the new badges for those that have many games (such as my Director of Acquisitions one for 500 games)
Before this it listed about 910, now says 674

It´s because The Trading Card Update

Before, they counted tell tales games like the walking dead as five games because there were 5 episodes but now they count it as 1 full game

They just updated it. Badge for games owned now.

Also because there is a new badge.

Mine went from 750+ to 513. I think 513 is correct number.

Cool that is sooo much better!

Prior to the update the number also included demos/free to play games you played and uninstalled as well as some trailers for whatever reason. They were all visible for a few days under the "Recently Played" section early in the beta.
This is a lot better now :)

Welp, according to steam I got 50+ (86, while I count 60) games on my account on August 19th, while my account was created on August 19th and I had no games besides Dota 2 'till the Holyday Sales came.

Yeah i just noticed that its close to the number whih is showed in my library

Yeah, now I have 154 instead of 265. Also I'm level 11 instead of 9 now, so I get a showcase.

I find this pretty amusing. If it wasn't for the badge/trading cards you know they probably wouldn't have changed it, at least not for a while.
