So many copies of Rift now appearing...

Where are all these copies of Rift appearing from? A pre-order bonus for Defiance somewhere?
I tried to play the game when it came out. It was interesting but school at the time kept me from getting immersed.
Has it improved?

WAs part of Defiance yup. As for improving the game is completely changed these days, I went back to it a month or 2 back and had a blast, great fun, housing is in game now in the shape of dimensions, which is more like owning your own small world, pretty nifty.

Thanks. Right now I am back to playing WoW but might give it another shot. I wish I could link my original account to a Steam version. I have a TF2 item redeemable in Rift.

Rift is pretty meh. I think Guild Wars 2 is the only MMO right now that can actually give WoW any competition.
