Paypal refunds usually take around 5 working days before they're actually issued to your paypal balance, at least recently in my experience. As long as you got the confirmation email from paypal it'll get to you eventually. The longer they hold the refunds the more money they make I imagine :P

There was some error processing your request and your money was refunded (or is in the process of being refunded). The money will most likely land on your PayPal account eventually (might take a couple of days). It is safe to retry your transaction.
Source: I have been using PayPal as a primary means of online payment for about 8 years now. I'm used to the errors that can occur. I have also worked with PayPal instant payment integration into a few websites.
