Wait, you wanted to trade Knights and Merchants for 1 CS key ? If that's the case I don't even feel sorry for you.

There were 3 games in total, that would go for 4 CS:GO keys. Am I not worthy, because I maybe got carried away a bit / thought that some punk wasn't lying? Am I that guilty for thinking that someone from Steamgifts doesn't have to be a lying, scamming scum? Well, sorry for my privilege then buddy! Have a nice day.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well either you knew that this game is worth virtually nothing in trading and thought "nice, this guy is willing to pay much more than it's worth", or you just didn't know about it so it didn't look suspicious to you that someone would offer 4 keys for that.
If it's the 2nd one then ok I'm sorry for you.

Yeah, these are games that were removed from the store (well, not Deadpool anymore), so there's a very limited quantity of these games available and they can be sold for a lot to collectors.
Knights & Merchants on the other hand, is a game that has been available for free for a long time (and still is), so it's barely worth anything for trading
Comment has been collapsed.
Knights and Merchants is free, son x) not on Steam, but its FOR Steam.
Interesting that you quote the price on steam store, but in your inventory there are game gifts, but none is from 'Knights and Merchants', therefore meaning, you have a key for it which you got for FREE.
Case closed.

Can you give me a link for that then? Maybe this is a fake then? http://store.steampowered.com/app/253900/

edit : Disregard, I read the original comment wrong. Yeah, you were giving an absolutely horrible deal. Not that it excuses scamming, but it's hard to feel sorry when you're ripping someone off. But hey, that's the open market for ya, right?
What he's saying is that Knights and Merchants is a game that is offered from various sites, for free. Many bundle sites offer free game keys at random intervals, and KaM is one of those games. This is a site where the users tend to track sales and bundles, often making threads when free keys appear.
Normally when you want a game, particularly one that isn't from the so-called "AAA" grade of games, you should google the game for it's cheapest prices. In the case of KaM, you would find it's free in various legit places, regardless of what steam charges currently. Current steam prices aren't always the cheapest on the market (Towns is £10, Spirited Heart Deluxe is £15, both being games that are so crap they don't sell or low-grade bundle-padding fodder respectively).
A little patience and forethought goes a long way, not just in trades with strangers.

For if Naylor finds this post~ http://www.dlh.net/en/ so you don't need to be scammed
Comment has been collapsed.
It does cost that much on steam, but right now anyone can get it for free so your best option is to wait until the giveaway ends then trade it.

Doesnt knights and merchants kinda sucks?, no one in their right mind would pay 1 CSGO key for that game... If the deal is too good to be true, its a scammer... I dont know who i feel sorry for, you losing your key or he having and scamming that game away :/
May i ask, which were the other 3 games?

They all were bundled before or free games (in the knights and merchants case), so yes, the deal was too good to be true, 4 CSGO keys for 3 games with low market value :/, good for you for giving the least valuable first :) you could have lost saints row or to the moon and that wouldve been sad indeed...

How are you certain that the steam profile you are even calling out is the one that actually belongs to the scammer? A common tactic by scammers is to link to other people's profiles so they appear to have a better reputation than they really do (and also to divert your anger).
And yes, you did do something wrong : You took a total stranger on their word in a "If you go first, I promise I'll totally not run away with your item". Hopefully someone will be able to offer you some other advice, but really you rushed into this and paid the steep learning price. If anything, in your shoes I would count myself lucky that I only lost out on one key. Some people pay a lot steeper to get the same wakeup call.
Comment has been collapsed.
But instead of saying "You're doing it all wrong", please, advice people on how to do it right, since I couldn't find a better way. You don't have to become immediately hostile for no apparent reason. Literally 1 minute later I removed the link, understanding my mistake. But you of course had to be hostile. Thanks, and have a nice day :)
Comment has been collapsed.
No, hostile would be insulting you, trying to drive you out or deliberately make you feel unwelcome.
I offered you a friendly warning about scammer's diversion tactics on false profile usage, a little blunt food for thought about trust in trades, then my brief commiserations and tried to get you to look on the bright side. When I said I'd count myself lucky, I meant it. Losing a key sucks, but these people usually take you for a way harder ride if they're going to screw you over. You got a discount on a harsh lesson, but it's not one you'll forget in a hurry (and you'll be better off for having this happen to you).
I acknowledged that I'm not familiar with how to chase down a scammer within the unofficial SteamTrades system / community (and said I hoped someone would fill you in with something of more substance). At worst, I'm indifferent to your situation. You opened a thread that (initially) broke the rules, and it's a common subject we see posted a lot. I even edited my original comment before you replied so that you didn't get bludgeoned by yet another "CALLOUT THREAD" remark, given others had beat me to it while I was typing.
You'll have to forgive me for not falling over myself to sugarcoat everything, but that's not being hostile.
You, however, are now being entirely passive aggressive because I dared to only give half of a shit while giving you a pat on the back.
Look, I get it. Someone swiped your key. That sucks, you're rightfully pissed that it happened, and I would be if I was in your situation.
But >i'm< not the dude who took your key, so it'd be real fuckin' neato if you stopped talking to me like that. I'm gonna put this down to you just being pissed about the scammer and not by me, but seriously man, take a step back and breathe deep. For what just happened to you, you actually got off lightly. It's always better to get scammed your first time by someone who only swipes something small, rather than later on when you're overconfident and arranging a much larger and more expensive trade. Try to see it as the silver lining on this big shitty stormcloud you're being forced to surf right now.
Consider the price of one CSGO key your admission fee to the 'caution club'.
It might burn right now, but it won't sting forever.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, yeah, I get what you mean man. I was just a bit angry about this, that's all. I poured my anger out on you, and that was uncalled for. I know that you wanted good, it was me who thought that it was aggressive, because of a few negative responses I got from the post. Look, all I can give you now is my apology. Whether you take it or not is all up to you. But once again,
I'm sorry.

Poor Naylor got scammed for 1 CSGO key in exchange for game given away for free...
He is actually here on steamgifts, and I hope he will see this post...

What if I told you, that I didn't know that they were giving it away for free. What if I also told you that it was 6,99 on Steam? What if I also told you that he wanted other games from me too? What if I told you that I already admitted my mistake, but you don't care? What if I also told you that just because, for example, Rocket League was free on PS+, doesn't make it free.
Comment has been collapsed.
Why "free"? I guess you mean the idea of having to pay for the subscription and stuff, and I guess you're right. I just meant, that, being a new game and all, getting Rocket League for about 2,50 (splitting between other games) is quite cheap, seeing as PS+, while being a premium service, isn't meant to be just a service that gives you games every month.
But I see your point on that, yeah :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Dude, why'd you have to even scam, I literally would've given it for free if you'd wanted it. Also, your trade rep is +1/-3 and of the 3 games you had a "giveaway" for, none of them you actually gave away. All of them were failed giveaways. Buddy, why?
Comment has been collapsed.
Because he's an idiot and an asshole, obviously.
Look on the bright side, you just confirmed the identity of your scammer. We have a local report feature, and I have a screenshot in case the dude tries to back out. Seems you won't need to go scammer hunting after all!
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah it's kind of great really. Dude could have just kept his mouth shut and walked Scot free, decided it would be better to come mock the person he scammed. Two things come out of this: any doubt this person scammed, or did it intentionally is shattered. Plus he's exposed himself.

Looking at your posts (and that perfect GIF, Tempete ;D) It's good to know that I have the backing of some people on the site :) While I know that I am kind of in the wrong here, it's good to know that he won't get of without a problem.
As Antoine Dodson said: "You don't have to come and confess, we looking for you, we gonna find you! So you can run and tell that, homeboy!"
But seriously though. It's great to see the backing of you guys :)
Comment has been collapsed.
No problem, you didn't do anything wrong, you've just been too trustful ^^
if you see anything that rises a red flag about someone, or if an offer sounds too good to be true, it's better to be safe and pass on what might be a good deal than to get scammed.
Try to trade with reputable traders (there are many that have hundreds of positive feedbacks in the trade section here), and don't trust rep written on Steam profile, it can easily be faked so it doesn't mean anything. Feedback on SteamGifts is reliable.
Also if someone adds you to trade and say "look I have a lot of rep" and give you a link to a profile here with a lot of rep, be careful because it's probably an impersonator. Make sure that the account linked to the Steamgifts profile is really the same person you are talking to, and not someone who's just using their username and picture.

Why you make fun of zeruel132 guys?...He can be noob for trading...Because you know the game was free everywhere don't make him to know that...he was scammed anyways... Scam is a scam... So much bad people here :S. Sorry for your loss buddy... Some people are bad...For not saying other word..
P.D.: Sorry,im bad at english :p.

Hey now, don't associate any of us with that guy. I've met plenty of great people on here - just that fact so many show up to give games should indicate the population is an overall generous and caring one.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks man :) It's actually very nice to hear some good words too. I was probably in the end, a bit too trusting. I'll just try and be more careful. It was meant to be as a reminder to people like me who haven't traded yet, to, while having a great and friendly community, always be skeptical about everyone.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wait, you traded with somebody who has a vac ban, a game ban, 2 reports on SteamRep, +1/-3 rep on SG and went first? :S Well, you can't say there were no red flags here. You might also consider getting enchanced steam, if you don't use it already.
Comment has been collapsed.
While he might have lost close to nothing (I highly doubt he would have found something to trade a key for a game which is constantly - or almost constantly - free on dlh), being a non experienced and, perhaps, naive traider, doesn't mean he deserves this disappointment. Also, it's certantly not up to you to judge and your actions aren't justified, as I'm sure you very well realize.
Comment has been collapsed.
I see. Still: use enhanched steam to easily check the SG profile of the person you are trading with. If they don't have enough high rep for you to feel safe while going first, just don't trade. Also: if it looks too good to be true, it's probably not true.
Comment has been collapsed.
i would defo stick it up your ass (if u was the person in your pic) but its more than likely your a fat lezbian
Comment has been collapsed.
If offer is too good to be true it probably is. You wanted to trade a game key that was avaiable for free in great quantities and that can be basically bought for a few cents or 3-4 trading cards for a 2$ worth item - that itself should ring a bell. You got greedy and didn't think about it and he took advantage of it.
Comment has been collapsed.
I agree with you, that's why I thought this would be a great cautionary tale, for everyone who is new to trading. I had the rush of actually having my first trade. I got foolhardy, but that doesn't make his actions ok in any way. I have learnt my lesson and hope that other newbies, like me, did too :)

oh and as for finding someone on SG for future reference - I see you already got Enhanced Steam suggested and I'd greatly suggest it as well, but in case it would be derping (happen to me from time to time|) or you cannot install addons (you're on school/work PC for example) - you can find an SG user by his ID64 - http://www.steamgifts.com/go/user/[ID64number]
[ID64number] are the numbers after steam profile - 76561198048865581 in your case, so we could find you by link http://www.steamgifts.com/go/user/76561198048865581 , and if someone has custom ID link, you can still find his ID64 for example using http://steamid.co/ or various other website you can easilly google ;)

Yeah, but:
Thankfully, he literally gave away his identity, so, we have him now too. So I'd say this post was a success :)

Add me on steam I'll give you three free keys including knights and merchants, enclave and east India company gold edition.

The bugger cheated me on a deal, which was my first and now, I only know his Steam profile, not his SG profile. I'd like to warn people though. Just in case there is no place for that. This is the kid who scammed me.
His name right now is Naylor and we had a cute little chat about a trade. Because of a misclick, I closed the chat window and the history seems to be lost, except my tries to call him out. Maybe I did something wrong, maybe I didn't, but this is how it went. He asked for all of my trades except the gift. When I asked him how many CS keys he'd offer, he said 4. I agreed after looking at his inv., which had more than enough keys. Me, being foolish, gave him 1 key, so he'd return with 1 CS key, and so on and so forth. He took it and ran. The game that he got was Knights and Merchants, so look at it in his games list, if needed.
I know, that I did something wrong probably, but I couldn't find any posts about trades for newbies or anything, like, how to even upvote a trader. I was thinking, that there might be a chance that there might be some system that had been figured out for this, but, alas, there was none, that I could find. So yeah, if needed, blame me for this, for being gullible, but please, I still would like an answer to my question, since he still scammed me and I'd like him removed from Steamgifts and preferrably from Steam itself.
Thank you for reading.
EDIT: Thanks to his smarts. He literally came to this thread to gloat over his latest conquest. I have blacklisted him / reported him. Also, I found the other account that he was using, thanks to a friendly, helpful SG user. You know who you are :) I have left him a negative trade feedback and reported him for using multiple accounts.
The morale here is. Even if you're new like me, be skeptical of every trade offer. It might save you your key / Paypal / Cards / Case key.
Have a nice evening everyone.
