The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing

Mmm, it seems pretty nice I've to say, don't know why I've never heard of it, whishlisted!

It's nice though not without its flaws. At certain point in the game, you get bloody swamped with monsters. Nevermind that with some brains and tinkering you'll get the right spells to rush through, you will have some moments where monsters accumulate to an unmanageable level. Most of the time, you won't be bothered but at some point, you won't be able to handle the horde. The damage you take sometimes seem ridiculously overscaled, at other time, the only thing that's keeping you alive is the life steal from your attacks. I was afraid my mouse was going to spoil with the clicking and holding the buttons down.

However, the game upgrade system is a wonder. So many different build and yet so limited chance to try them all out. The upgrade remains in my mind as one of the robust system I've seen, even taking into account some of the big RPG games.

It's not bad, I'm currently doing the level 31 runs. The build I have is pretty decent, so I'm not really struggling.

The big issues are the balancing and the game ruining bugs:

• There's a section in the level 31 area where spiders cast weakness on you and they stack to the point that one shot will kill you. Very annoying.

• I ran into a bug with a Heroic HC where it used Rage instead of Mana; since my build was reliant on me maintaining max rage and using lifesteal this really screwed me over.

Couple of other issues also cropped up, but I liked the steampunky feel and the skill trees were expansive enough that I felt there was some variation to the game and some replayabilty.

Overall, I reckon it's not bad, and that it's more likely a trial run for the second one. I'm sure that one will be much better, and the multiplayer sorted out.

Is the game on sale or something ? I wanna buy it

I've had only negative experiences with it so far;

• Game is not optimised well, it will heat up your computer no matter what you have (barring water cooled sli).
• The loading times when entering/leaving areas is too long (40s-80s).
• Multiplayer is still very buggy, they've been saying that they will fix the multiplayer experience but thus far no dedicated patches have been released to fix the issues, on the contrary their last few patches have been dlc related.
• Support is very slow, unhelpful when it comes to issues that need fixing (like multiplayer issues, long loading times, memory leaks etc.)

Been following a little bit the game and it did seem interesting after reading and seeing a bit more of it.

WOW Those screenshots; now I remember why I have this game on my wishlist. Such a nice style.

I heard the game crashes like every 30 minutes, but since nobody mentioned it maybe it was fixed.

Yet, I don't like the fact that the new classes are DLCs, really, and also the fact that they announced a sequel only a few time after releasing the first one. Seems like a huge moneygrab.
