With a good selection of well-balanced mods, Minecraft can be as brutal as any old-school (i.e. pre-2000) roguelike. It ain't all "creative mode".
...and I hate to play the "retro" card, but the lo-fi presentation does have some appeal for gamers of a certain generation.

With the correct selection of mods, young gamers will have a very hard time to build the endgame stuff. There can be quite complicated builds needed to achieve what you want.
One of the best modpacks I've ever played: FTB Infinity Evolved (Expert mode), based on MC 1.7.10

It comes and goes, i have been busy lately and not on there. Im going to hire staff right after christmas breaknto help with the groul because ive been so busy its hard for me to keep it up alone. I may be switching the chat to TeamSpeak or making a new discord to purge this one of inactivity and being more selective. Not sure yer. Need more staff to discuss it with. Ill be posting a staff hiring page here soon.

Here's a bump for you! I don't like rust; I don't own it but I've watch let's plays of the game. I also haven't played Minecraft in a while (mainly due to being bored playing by myself), so I may have to try out the server. :)

Hey SG, just wanted to share that The Adult Gamers has a couple servers up for anyone 21+ (or the all ages rust server) would like to join. We also have a few giveaways going on in our forums and will have a few more up and running on SG later today! ^^ most likely 7 Days to die for our whitelist memebers and 2 or 3 bundle games for all members. Ill update this thread when those go live!

As you can see, we have 2 rust servers. The first one is our 21+ casual rust gameplay. We may hold some events in this server if we get a large user base. The second one, Rust Rampage, is an "anything goes" pvp server. The pure Rust experience, for hardcore rust gamers. This one is not heavily moderated for grieving.
