Metro Last Light - region locked?

I can't find a definite answer, so do you know if all Metro Last Light gifts are ROW? Or, if there are any other versions, can they be activated and played anywhere?

they should be ROW, I got a copy from a Russian trader and it's region free.

I remember when the game was first released, there were definitely region locked versions. I'm not sure about now.

apparently it's region free atm. It has an RU tag in steamdb but my russian friend was able to get it for me in russian price without regional restriction

Will I be fine if I activate it now? Can they put a region lock in the future on already activated copies?

I have no experience or idea in which valve did that. I'm not sure but valve won't change your giftable copy tag if you already bought it.
