The same for me, and it also suddenly erased data about groups in which I am...

I found out that in the profile settings at Steam unchecking the box about 'not taking the settings above into consideration' and saving then rechecking the box and saving again solves the issue. Once at a time.
You have to repeat all of this whenever you want to sync your account again and you'll get the notification about non-public settings.

Clicking sync a few more times wont kill you

Same here. I ve tried it since 3 days without success.

Try harder. No kidding, everytime I want to resync I have to try at least 20 times.

problem probably at steams end,not SG
