I actually disagree when they block 'select' gambling site just for PR reason (15 from the seas of gambling sites). This leads to an abuse politically, they just ban whenever it is profitable for their PR. Look how Epic Games has still not be opened for 1 week now, but because the Unreal Engine developers are not fully active on social media, they keep getting blocked while losing money each day.

Imagine if this is a niche site that absolutely crucial for a specific IT development, but because no one active in social media, it keeps getting blocked. It can grant setback for Indonesia's IT development for years, which already very underdeveloped because the communication ministry really make policy that authoritarian day by day, ignoring the tons of ads telecoms sent to citizen. The worse part is radical religion leaders and pornographic material from social media still accessible as long as they are registered by this system.

Indonesia government plan to actually regulate NAPs instead, so each and every site can be automatically blocked upon creation unless you registered. Which sounds like an abuse for indie developers, or nonprofit/hobby sites, since they are not making money yet must giveaway their data.

And they ignore the biggest problem; Indonesia citizen data leak is often happens, in this year only our vaccinations and police arrest data has been leaked. And the government only asks for registration of many things (not only driver's permit/citizenship permit), often including our face + citizenship identity card + fingerprints. Our citizenship identity card is also our tax number so it gets worse.
