Yesterday 2 people with level 0 in steam added me, I asked why have they added me, but they haven't answered so I just deleted them from my frinedlist. Today, I just got an invite from a strange person with private profile. It automatically send me a spam message, wich has a pastebin.com link in it. This message said this:
NEW PROJECT!!! Do not miss your chance!!! Be sure to stop by and read, you for sure will interest !!!
Remember, a second chance can not be, it's 5 sec your time....
All in a virtual text document - pastebin(link) and on youtube(link)
Sorry for spam...
Please, if u get a link from unknown person NEVER go to this link
Also, I found in the internet that this pastebin link contains virus, that steals your steam account
Here's screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/EYSGS
EDIT: I JUST FOUND THAT IF U COPY ONE OF HIS NAME, U WILL AUTOMATICALLY GO TO STRANGE LINK AND AUTOMATICALLY WILL START DOWNLOAD OF STRANGE FILE**

I don't know why you'd add someone you don't know - particularly if they're level 0

Because, sometimes they are just newbies who want to make new friends :)

I like adding random people, makes it harder to machine-learn my real friend network. 👀
Although I do that more on Facebook than on Steam ^^

There is one easy way to save yourself some potential trouble ... when someone Random add you , check his Alternative IDs .

If Unasigned is one of them , just dont accept the invite ... its a bot 100% :)

Nono , just on Steam .
You know there is an Down arrow next to people nick when you open their profiles , if you click it it opens a dropdown window with all his alternative IDs that have been used .

Dont think those are new tbh , its just different take on an existing scam :)
Tbh just check his alternative nicks .... if you see Unasigned as one of them , its one of those Spam bots and just dont accept the friend request .

They're from those shady groups you're joining.
Clean your groups list and no more invites.

That's your Steam ID, your usename is just EsE, however, that is not unique ;)

when you log in on steam, you have to introduce your username and your password, my steam username isnt EsE nor EsEsama, i use those as nicks for several games like here or here

How does the link steal your account? I thought pastebin just lets you view text.

Anything that comes from a spamming bot should be instantly dodged, be it a link or god knows what else. Keep that in mind and you will probably never fail for these kind of scams.

New type of scam
blind social media contact attempts are scam attempts

That's basically the very opposite of new, unless you're working from a pre-computing era perspective. :P

I thought that steam made it so that it would remove links to most websites if it was posted in chat.

Can't have google.com in our messages in order to prevent phishing and scams, but pastebin is okay I guess

Random Steam invites from level 0, private profiles, trade- VAC- Game- banned are immediately blocked here and that keeps the scam attempts to a low level, here.
