This game is actually good, but it's build on super stealth, you need to be super stealthy to pass it,on harder difficulties other than Normal/Easy - it's super extreme hard, well,if you like heavy stealth and "exploreing" that's the game for you.

I disagree. If you ignore the score system and run through the level two-handed-over-head-throwing axes into peoples' faces it quickly becomes the best Hitman experience.
If you can't have fun in a game where you can throw a katana or a screw driver into someone's face from several metres away you have a problem and I weep for you.

Worst Hitman game ever made =/= Bad game. If the devs decided that the Hitman series gameplay didn't fit their plans, then they should have advertised it as a spin-off, not a sequel. That mistake is what killed SimCity Societies, among others.

You don't need to ignore the score system, just do the objectives and don't get cought, sometimes you need to kill someone but it's worth it becuase you get 3x of it,like in the mission in the balcony( don't rememeber wich one) you kill a guard by throwing him out of the window while out there, you don't get penelty and don't get better score,it's like -100 then +100.

You're obviously incompetent. When I lurk in the bushes, I'm not just dressed like a bush, I'm thinking like a bush, I'm one with the bush. If I'm just dressed like a bush and thinking like a man, my target would have identified me, put in a call to 911 and the cops would be on me like white on rice. Clearly, you're doing something wrong.

It seems there is some kind of fix/trainer that reduces the range of enemies discovering you in disguises. Supposed to make the game better. Haven't tried it myself.

Was my thought as well, seeing a friend play it. And he's playing on normal I think, not the kind of guy to turn up the difficulty anyway. I'm not happy about it, the reason I loved the Hitman series so far has been because of the new approach to stealth with those disguises. This ain't Hitman any more, this is Human Revolution. Which is not bad at all, but if I want to play Deus Ex then I'll go and fucking play Deus Ex goddammit.

Disguise system was implemented badly. BUT, it also made game much harder. In earlier games, most levels had 2 main points - find secluded guard to get his disguise, and after that safely move around everywhere to kill your target (which could require another steps, but thanks to disguises it usually was easy, and only required finding the right way - and disguises allowed it easily, since noone bothered you).
Disguises gives second or two before enemies start to swarm over you. Not much, but sometimes enough to hide behind some cover (which only shows stupid AI, but no sneak game have clever AI, I guess).
I guess biggest problem with disguises is that most levels have one disguise. There are few where there's more then one disguise, and that's where this system can be really used. Like, for example, Dexter's factory, where you can be a scientist or guard, and you can disguise yourself differently for every room, since scientists can't recognize guards and vice versa.

It's actually a really good game! The disguises are the only issue I've found so far, the rest is really well made. The disguise system is a fairly integral part of any Hitman game though, so prepare yourself for a challenge until they release a patch...........................................or it's actually better if you just wait for the patch to be released.

The disguises are a little wonky sometimes, but I'm doing my first playthrough on Normal and the enemies don't seem to see through the disguises too much. I don't have much of an issue with the disguise system so far. If I'm dressed as a cop I would kinda expect other cops to be a little suspicious if some new guy was suddenly walking around. Perhaps it makes it a little harder than the older games but I'm ok with that. In any case it's still a fantastic game so if they need to patch the disguise system at some point then so be it.
Or you can just "black suit red tie" it through the levels like a boss if you don't like the disguises.

Whole game is pretty much broken. This isn't Hitman

Only thing that could fix this trainwreck of a game would be to release Sam Fisher DLC skin, so you can immerse yourself properly

Nah Xarabas, don't mind the bangwagon, most what has been shown where the wrost parts. Hitman Absolution is awesome, love the voice acting, the music, the game itself, it has some flaws, it does has some stupid stuffs about disguises, but other then that its not that BADDDD.

I played few hours of it on XBOX and it's just awfull. There is no other word to describe it. Everything is so dumbed down to appeal for larger audience. It's really sad for a franchise to die this way, i really liked Hitman

I think you are overreacting about it, Contracts was not a good game as well, the series has its up and downs, this is a new game system for the developers, I'm sure they'll learn from their mistakes and makes a better one next time, not that I think of this one "awful". And I didn't find it that dumbed down, I found it a much harder game the last ones.
Edit: Everyone has his points of views, of course I respect yours, you are right, but not completely imo

In all fairness, i could add that it's a decent stealth/sneaker game or whatever would you call it, it just doesn't feel like proper Hitman game (or at least not what i expected). If they named it Revenge Clone or Assassin for Hire: Payback it would be just fine

How did you conclude that i only played Hitman: Blood Money? And why would you guarantee that?
Comment has been collapsed.
Even if it was, why does that change anything, Blood Money is considered one of the best ones, if not the best one, so yeah why again would it be bad to compare that one to this one?
You just come off as a jerk with this message....

You've convinced yourself that you're right when ultimately Blood Money and Absolution are from the same developer and the same series SOOOOOOOO of course people are going to compare them, no matter how different they may seem. I have to say, I don't like your attitude either, there's no need to blow up.

This is because the AI is smarter, they know who their co-workers are. Also, just go Suit-Only like professionals do. I finished the game on purist and thought it was fine.
I do agree with the rain bit though, those cops do have super vision!

If they need to fix something that usually implies that it is broken lol. The range at which they notice you, and the speed at which they notice you is completely ridiculous. I don't even have time to activate instinct in most cases, just a lot of checkpoint reloading sigh

I haven't played the game yet, i'm basing my opinion on several videos of missions i've watched.
It seems like even on normal difficulty, the speed in which you get seen through the disguise is pretty much an excuse to use the "Instinct" (a bullshit ability if you ask me), and while i would understand a fast detection rate in some instances (if the game were to be as nitpick), most of the time i've ended up wondering myself how the hell did he get discovered so fast. (Remember Hitman 1 and 2 for example, they would get far more suspicious if they found a body which had the suit you're wearing)
Another thing i really didn't like was the point system; the previous games aimed at a "realistic" way of approving what you did or not, Blood Money was the greatest example with the news report; having a numeric score just takes away that immersion (one of the reasons why if i were to play the game, i'd pick the highest difficulty)

I don't have an issue with the Instinct ability, it's really quite neat if it's applied in the right context. However in Absolution I find myself using it when standing several meters from enemies (which is not how I thought it would be applicable). Would be so much better if it was only useful when right in someone's face instead of forcing me to use it so far away because it's so limited (in most difficulties).
So far, the point system hasn't bothered me. It is kind of telling me how to play the game but I find it useful to keep me informed of how well or shit I'm doing. Next to the points box there's another box that displays a symbol relating to your "rank". If I'm trying to get a Silent Assassin rating I want to know when and where I made the mistake instead of completing the entire mission and then discovering I fucked up somewhere.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ahhh i didn't know about that "rank" thingy, that is quite useful.
And as a response to PsyKo, yes i remember seeing that, but in the end result was far better than just a score as if i'm playing guitar hero.

I have played through the first 3 levels on Purist, and it is fine. Don't know where you're getting those disguise problems from. I stopped playing on Purist right now, as I want to complete the challenges 100% in order to get the best scores possible. Other than that, I loved the story, loved the stealthy gameplay, and will be getting the Hitman Collection this Winter Sale.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well playing on Purist will give you the best score possible lol. I'm only getting a + 50% bonus for playing Hard, I reckon Purist would give you a + 100% bonus.
In past Hitman games I could rely on disguises to get me through most levels, in Absolution I can't. That's where my problem is I think, not being able to blend into the environment and enemies the same way I could in the previous games. Kind of takes away the feeling of being a Hitman.
I do enjoy the stealth aspects, but Absolution seems to rely more on stealth and less on disguises whereas the previous games could accommodate both playstyles.

I think it's level design forced by story that changed how disguises work. It's like 80%-90% of missions aren't assassinations, but going to next door. Just think about burning hotel level with old disguises - there's be no challenge, just grabbing first cop, getting his clothes and then moving forward.
Maybe if they'd make Contracts to be integral part of Absolution (for example, when kill-less level in Story Mode loads, some random Contract is loaded too), then they could bring old disguises back?

Hello hello,
I just wanted to ask Hitman Absolution players what their thoughts are regarding the disguise system.
I'm currently playing on Hard difficulty and getting pissed off at how easy it is for enemies to see through my disguise. Even from several meters away, in the pouring rain, with me wearing glasses they start to get suspicious. These are some super cops we're dealing with.
I constantly have to use instinct and it's so bad that I've actually preferred to just avoid disguises altogether (or only when I really need them) because they barely help at all. I do understand that there are alternatives to blend into the environment, but this seriously limits my ability to explore. I remember how useful disguises were in the previous Hitman games and I was always looking forward to "getting my next makeover". Now that feeling is gone and I feel like a part of what made Hitman great has suddenly disappeared.
/rant
Now for everyone who thinks the Absolution disguise system is perfectly reasonable, COME AT ME BROS, I'M WAITING :)
