Conundrum. Will this unread deleted message forever be shown as an alert?

So I have an alert for an unread message, but it was subsequently deleted so nothing shows up in my messages. But the alert for the unread message remains. Will it ever go away?

mark messages as read and it' will be gone.

You need to get another message so you can click the green button and get rid of it, so here you go.
