whats your favorite manga
Not really in any particular order:

Jojo, but it does take 2-3 volumes to really get good.

My relationship with Part 5 is complicated. It probably has some of the coolest Stands in the series, and the supporting characters and villains are pretty interesting for the most part, but holy crap is Giorno awful. I don't like to throw out the term Mary Sue carelessly, but the guy ticks every single box on the litmus test and the story suffers terribly for it.
But I do like it a lot more now that I've been reading the improved scanlations. If you've only read the low quality ones, you should know that the editor made up about 75% of the dialog because the translator gave him gibberish...with proper translations, the characterization is much better and the fights make a lot more sense.
What I'm saying is...it used to definitely be my least favorite part, but now it's only probably my least favorite part.

That's pretty much everything I have been reading :D There were few others, but they are really bad xD If you haven't read Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist I really recommend you to do so :D

I don't actually play the card game so weird mechanics mean nothing to me. But I think Pendulum Summon is very cool and well made.
But yeah, trying to come up with yet another new mechanic for the 6th series and onwards will get increasingly more difficult.

Don't read enough mangas to be able to build a top 10, but in no particular order:
1) Tetsuwan Atom / Astro Boy
2) 20th Century Boys
3) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (current animated adaption is also pretty good), although the first two arcs (Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency) really feel like Fist of the North Star knock-offs.
4) Akira. The manga version is very different from the animated one
Comment has been collapsed.
Phantom Blood is basically FOTNS with vampires, yeah, but Battle Tendency makes things so weird that the only real resemblance is the art style.
I probably should have put Akira on my list. I haven't read it in a decade but it's excellent. I need to get around to seeing the movie.

Well, on the topic of Jojo, I'm certainly not the only one who'll say that while Battle Tendency does increase the Bizarre levels (with Stroheim the Nazi cyborg hero taking the cake), it's not until Stardust Crusaders introduces stand powers that the series really comes into it's own.
Comment has been collapsed.
That's definitely true; I just feel like a lot of people undervalue what an unconventional shonen protagonist Joseph was, especially for 1987. In fact, Stardust Crusaders kind of took a step backwards in that respect, by giving us another protagonist who solved most of his problems by punching them repeatedly. You can definitely feel Araki testing the waters of how weird he wanted Stands to be as Stardust Crusaders went on, until he just dove in completely with DiU and started giving the main protagonists ridiculous powers.
Comment has been collapsed.
True. Joseph is unconventional in that he often relies on fighting dirty, and in most fair fights he's at a disadvantage. Which also carries over when he's pushed into a supporting role in Stardust Crusaders. And in later arcs almost everyone gets ridiculous powers, including antagonists and supporting cast :)

my favorite top 10 is:
1 Naruto
2 Elfen lied :( i cri every time
3 Dragon Ball (original and Z not super)
4 Death Note
5 Yugi-Oh (yugi arc and maybe GX )
6 Beelzabub
7 Yuyu hakusho
8 Flame of recca
9 Slam Dunk
10 Detective Conan (formerly top 5 but i got bored of it due to wel......... it never focus on the main story and become a your weekly solve bs cases instead of the one you should solve for like 10 years ago. )

i own these 2 to animax for the anime before i read the manga :)

Man, Toriko just vanished. It seems like in no time at all it went from people calling it the next Dragonball to no one remembering it existed. I never read it, but it has cool monster designs.

Can't really make a list right now, also i'd recommend light novels if you enjoy the Chinese manga, soul land sucks so much compared to the book, which is a lot more serious and bloody, as is the BTTH book, but its a bit less cringy reading the manga for that at least. Panlong is just wrong compared to the book, its like they had a list of how quirky and funny they think they have to be for a manga to succeed, which isn't really the case imo. Shen Yin Wan Zhao is also really fun and has a lot more info and details, but i didn't have time to read that too much.
Sorry for the rant, do as you wish, but if reading is something you're ok with and like the stories, the books are good.

Man... I used to read a lot of manga way back, but I read less of it for some reason. Maybe I should get back to picking up more.
I recently picked up Boku Dake ga Inai Machi after taking interest in the anime. There is mystery, but there are a lot of red flags pointing towards who the culprit is. But its a nice heartwarming manga when it explores the relationships between the 11 year old version of the protagonist, his mother and his circle of friends.
I was quite into Alive: The Final Evolution, Gantz and The Breaker (and New Waves) back when I read manga quite regularly. I've also picked up Noragami (which I thoroughly enjoy)
I used to read Detective Conan, but I lost where I was up to :( I should try reading it again since I found a concise list of chapters that are relevant to the Black Organization plot and other important character development. There was I time where I was super into Sket Dance
I enjoyed short nuanced manga like Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan as well. There's also Otoyomegatari and A Silent Voice are my favorites too.
I like Yotsuba&! but it seemed to update really slowly... Barakamon was a good substitute though
Of course I had several guilty pleasures on and off like Ichigo 100% (I like her art, whatever) and Sekirei (good lord) and Aku no Hana and was heartbroken by so many axed manga like MX0 and Pretty Face
I should pick up Jin some time again. Man I seem to like time travel scenarios.
I can't pick ten cos these just seem to come to mind as I type :O This was a nice trip back on memory lane though

Well, there are sure a lot of stuff I have read and watched so I will only say what I last read and what I suggest :v
The last things I have read were
-Jojo's bizzare adventure part 8 (still ongoing)
-One punch man (I started it waaay before the anime came out, more than a year ago)
Then I have only read Webcomics and watched anime.
I RECOMMEND to read the ones I listed there ^ and to watch these animes:
-Nichijou (my favourite anime) - It's demential, cute, funny, heartwarming, and there are girls.
-Danshi koukousei no nichijou - Nichijou with boys basically, another kind of humor but still veeeery funny.
-Gurren lagann - Who hasn't watched gurren lagann? I hope you did!
-Cowboy Bepop - Old style anime, the soundtrack is the best thing ever
-Samurai champloo - If you have watched Cowboy Bepop, you should watch this
Then there are a lot more good stuff to find, these titles were the first that i thought of
I recommend the anime version, the manga is good but nothing compared to the anime version of these ^ they last three are good for the soundtrack too

Sanctuary
Death Note (you know it)
Homunculus
Vagabond
All great in my opinion. :D I'm looking for more seinen!

Monster is awesome! Both manga and the anime. Urasawa also wrote a novel to it as well, 'Another Monster' which reads as an journalists investigation, with case files and history of the characters and that.
Good stuff!
