Should I ask Steam Support to migrate my account to India?
They can change it, you just need some proof that you are living in that country for example passport, student card, ID card and they will change it.

So do the rest (85% of dubai are not citizens of dubai and have thier respective passports of origin )

Who cares, you live, work and buy games in Dubai, why would you pay indian prices for them. But go ahead and try, i don't imagine you have anything to lose, except probably a year till a proper person in steam support team picks up your ticket.

It doesn't matter if you have an Indian passport, you live in Dubaï. The only way for you to get Indian prices would be to go back to India. But yeah, as others I've already said, it can't hurt to ask support. Just don't get your hopes too high though.

If you have an Indian bank account, you can buy games from the Indian store. You can access any regional store just through a simple google search. Don't use the Steam client store because that is automatically set to whichever country you are in and cannot be changed unless you leave the country.

Bunch of ridiculous comments /sigh If you don't know, no need to conjecture, or worse make false statements...
Yes, Valve will change your store region if you contact support. I did it myself. They will likely want a scan of the main page of your passport to prove citizenship. You will no longer be able to use local payment options when shopping in the Steam store, if they are different from your home country. e.g. The payment system auto denies my Paypal account linked to my Chinese bank account, but I can use my other Paypal account which withdraws from a USA bank account.

Region restrictions are affected by your IP, not by your steam store currency. If you change your Store to Indian, it won't make games playable only in India, playable in UAE.

You may be an Indian citizen but you are in the UAE so if certain games are region locked and are limited to India (or UAE) you will be able to play them in only that country. So if you are living in UAE having an Indian steam store will probably make your situation worse.

I am currently using the UAE Steam Store -- that's where i live -- in Dubai. And, a few games are 'locked-out' from purchases and even visibility... So I was wondering if i should ask Steam Support to let me change the store region to 'India..'
Why?
Cause I'm an Indian Cit for crying out loud! and I'm tired of locked-from-purchase games...
Maybe people who have access to the Indian Steam store can shed some light on whether its worth the migration or not?
Thanks!
