Honestly I would get a slightly better card: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=29219&cPath=876.
Right now the biggest bang for the buck is clearly the Gtx970 and is pretty much future-proof for the next 3-4 years.

Memory is not something that is very relevant in current Video cards. If you don't plan on playing games on a 4K monitor, memory size is the least important factor. Here you go: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-radeon-r9-390x-r9-380-r7-370,4178-6.html

That's my point. Until 2k the GTX 970 is on par with the 390x. Here, I found a more comprehensive benchmark: http://www.techspot.com/review/1019-radeon-r9-390x-390-380/page8.html
If you go through the benchmarks you'll see that the 8GB cards have an advantage mostly if you go above 2560x1600

I would wait a bit till AMD's new fury cards are released and benchmarked. Nvidia cards may get cheaper in response. Plus there's the China-Australia trade agreement which was recently signed., pc parts might get cheaper soon.
No harm waiting a little bit so your $750 budget stretches further.

They've already been benchmarked :)
Edit: The Fury X at least.

Been looking at the 390 8g card, for $499, its more than I wanted to spend, but its a 50% increase in fps in witcher 3 over the 380 and about 13% in gta 5. and the 8g will future proof it a bit more.
Why wait? for price drops? When would that be expected?
Pretty sure Im gonna settle on that BenQ RL2755HM 27" 1ms LED-LCD Gaming Monitor casue it seems damn good for the price.

First, don't waste your money on 28nm cards, but since you have that HD6950 still, I would say a second hand 280x/290x or a new GTX 970, but as I said, it's a really bad time to buy graphic cards that will be obsolete in 6 months in performance and features.
As for the monitor, BenQ XR3501 will be the best for gaming this year.

Hey guys, Looking at upgrading my graphics card on my 4 year old Rig, As Im starting to have to reduce ALOT of settings to low now and feel I've worked hard enough lately to spend a bit of money. Im currently running a 21" samsung @ 1680x1050 and will be replacing that too with a 27" 1920x1080 monitor. I worked for my dad on my days off from my proper job for 4 days so have $750AUD to spend, but I do have the funds to go over if need be, but would prefer not too. I have a 8 month old daughter so "DUDE SPEND $2k ok thx" comments will be ignored:P
My Current Rig:
1 Intel Core i7 2600 3.4GH s1155 QuadCore/Turbo3.8GHz/LGA1155
1 Gigabyte P67A-UD3B3 ATX s1155 Intel P67, DDR3, RAID, USB3
1 Corsair 8GB kit (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Unbuffered CL 9 DIMM Memory for AMD and Intel Core i3, i5, i7 Dual Channel DDR3 platforms
1 WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 64M 64MB Cache -WD1002FAEX
1 COOLERMASTER RC-692 ADVANCED $106.36 1 $106.36 GST
1 CORSAIR TX 650 WATT PSU $104.55 1 $104.55 GST 1 DVD BURNER SATA
1 WINDOWS 7 64 BIT HOME PREMIUM
1 Gigabyte ATI 6950 OC PCI-E 2.1 1GB 256-bit GDDR5, 870/5000 MHz,Dual-Link DVI, HDMI, DP, DX11, Fan
I was looking at getting the new R9 380 4G (preferably the 1G gaming one) http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...2bf88d8927177b
but have been hearing the new cards are worthless as they do nothing 2 year old models don't (and I don't think I'd be making a smart choice getting an older card and hoping it'd last a while) So yeh any advice would be good, I believe the next step above the 380 is another $150
As for the monitor Im looking at getting this one https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-...onitor/672153/ but have been reading the colours may not be as good as some other similar sized screens (but they have a bigger response time) my other options were
https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php...ducts_id=31095
http://www.digitalversus.com/lcd-mon...2053/test.html (jb has this for $350)
http://www.digitaltrends.com/monitor...7d390h-review/ (DSE has this for $279 and $299 off special (not sure if that ended)
Please offer any and all advice, I will take it all on board. Thanks all
<3 Crossy
