has anyone played this game, any thoughts on it?

every one who's played it seems to be really happy with the game but i'm still not sure if i should buy it, i love H&S and Action RPGs but the fact that this game has been in Early access for almost 1.5 years and they're updating the game with new "chapters" and the story is not complete (kinda like episodic games ) is kind of a turn off for me :|

Generally EA = no go. Unless you're desperate.

i'm not a big fan of Early access game myself but there have been some great games in EA,like Kerbal Space Program, prison architect and recently Darkest Dungeon and i think these games are some of the best examples of EA done right......
if a game looks good enough and if it has good devs i would definitely support them though early access, but i believe that at least 80% of games in EA are just complete bullsh!t :|

If you see that E.A. games are top sellers with good reviews, with gameplay that looks fun to you... then GO FOR IT!

If not... just wait for the final product, there's plenty to play and a whole lot of sales.

I guess, 73% of people recommend it, although any E.A. game is a gamble! Even people who don't recommend it played for +200h and state that they got their money's worth, although that game is described as a slow grindfest, lol

Just wait for it to be released. It should be a good game since it has several developers of the Titan Quest games which are good action rpgs.

Remember that people who review Early Access games have an understanding that the game is not finished yet. So they are more likely to give a decent review because they like the direction that the game is going in, or have high hopes for future content to complete the experience. They don't know how long it will be until new content is released, they don't know whether the developers will remain passionate about the future of their game, and they don't know whether the final version will be significantly improved from the early access version.

All I'm saying is, early access reviews are generally more hopeful impressions rather than accurate opinions of the game's current state.

Well think it like this. If it's EA and has been 50% off, full release should be an easy 75% off. :)

As said above, this game is being made by a few of the main devs from Titan Quest, which is one of the very best Action RPGs made. I have this at the top of my wishlist.

Im really debating buying it now myself, but I have a feeling it will dip lower still here during the summer sale.

Well, devs are hoping to release the game till the end of the year. Currently the game offers not bad amount of content(10-12h I think but not sure since I play it often). Cap level is 40,you have 5 classes to check out. Interesting quests and enemies. There are still no legendary equipment only epics(that differs in stats and lvl even if they share name). Crafting system isnt bad but grinding blueprints is pain because of low drop(higher chance to get epic than blueprint). For some rare materials you will farm some bosses over and over again.

Yet to check MP but last time I read isnt really stable at times.

I personally like the game and enter in it for an hour or two just to do some of the dungeons.

I stopped playing it during the alpha because I wanted to save the experience for the finished product. I love the tone, the aesthetic and the world, all of which slot in perfectly on top of their solid ARPG mechanics. It's going to be shorter than Titan Quest, but I can see myself losing hundreds of hours in this puppy.

If you want to help them with feedback, absolutely jump on it for twelve bucks. And if you just need an ARPG, it's already a very solid one that could be on its way to greatness. But if you don't want to deal with the builds and possible bugs of a beta, hang back.
