Hi @ all,

waiting more than 2 weeks, one of my giveaways was not yet marked as received.
I contacted the winner, which told me that I can reroll the giveaway.
Now, a new winner has been chosen and the gift is already marked as not received.
Did that happen automatically and has the new winner the Chance to mark it as received?

Iirc about how it works, the new winner probably marked it as not received.

So, quick question. Humble gift link, did you email or contact the winner, wondering about both times.

And why did the original guy ask you to reroll?

I don't know why the original winner asked to reroll. Let's hope he did not activate the game on another steam account.
I wasn't able to contact the new winner until now.

So, he had access to the gift link through an email, for three weeks, and you took his recommendation to reroll?

He gyped you. He got himself a game, then set you up to look bad when the reroll was for a used gift link.

Your only options are to take the hit, or get another copy for the new winner.

Also, in future, to save yourself problems, email the winners first asking them to confirm they got the email if they want their win. You get less "I didn't get it" used keys that way.

Or just add them to steam and also check if they activate the game on that same account.

Can't you check if the gift link has been used or not by following it?

If it's a humble link, you can just pretend you are going to activate it by pasting it to your URL bar and visiting it. As long as you don't enter the email info, it will remain unclaimed.

When did he say the gift link was no good?

I assume that after someone has a gift link for three weeks and then requests a reroll by the creator, there might be something iffy there. Given the new winner has won other giveaways and knows how the site works, they wouldn't mark a game Unreceived unless it didn't work.

The re-roll request was placed over a week ago, and not approved until 3 days ago. OP says they didn't contact winner until today. New winner hasn't logged into the site in the last 24 hours. So sometime in the last 2-3 days, the new winner marked it as "not received", which is fine; they can change it back when they receive the gift and come to the site again.

The new winner chose to mark it as "not received"; it's not automatic. They can change it to "received" at any time.
