A lot of us will never reach a level of 400-600 but I don't see the problem. Why should generous people not get an advantage sometimes? They are generous, so they earned a little present themselves.

You're vastly overstating the amount of contributor giveaways in the price range. Most of them are in the 1-100 dollar range.

I don't see the problem. OF COURSE they could buy the game for themself but If you really think that way they are nothing else but spenders. "You have money...you give it to us but you get nothing in return". However someone who never gives anything still has lots of free giveaways. Someone who never gives can only win. A Contributor,especially the big ones,lose money here. So even if its just fortix some of them might be happy to win something.

Winning games is fun, even if you give away a lot. I'm a poor student and I can give a little bit of stuff away every month, so it's not like only rich guys can have $1000+ contributor value. It just takes a bit more time for those without a fat wallet.

And besides, it's called SteamGifts, not SteamCharity.

You don't have to spend $400 to 'gift' $400 worth of games on SteamGifts.
Buy the games when they're 50~75% off, or another promotion. Some games are even 80% off during the Midweek Madness and Weekend sales.

Instead of QQing about it, start saving money and wait for the next sale. It's much better, and you won't have to wait and hope you'll win game on SG.
