I use a g4 as my daily phone, and my old nexus 4 to try out various new roms (that phone's pretty much unbrickable)
Phone history:

  • About 3 basic Nokias, including a 3310, and a nokia flip phone (can't remember the model, all dead, including the 3310)
  • Motorola Razr v8 and another motorola flip phone (can't remember the model yet again, lost one another one's lying around somewhere)
  • LG Cosmos (slide out keyboard, alive, sitting in my drawer)
  • LG Nexus 4 (very much alive, used for testing interesting roms, i.e. Ubuntu Touch, Mozilla OS, etc.)
  • LG G2 (dead)
  • Samsung Galaxy S3 (dead)
  • LG G4 (current)

I used to have an Iphone, but after be screwed by Apple a few times i refused to buy any of their products. O switched to android, originally had ans S4 vut upgraded to the S6 when it broke. Not a big fan of the S6 as they treid the make it more accessible to consumers [read: make it more like an Iphone] everything else is pretty much improved, but the removal of an options button and the emission of the sd slot pissed me off.

Edit: The Motorola Razr is still my favorite phone of all time.

I really think LG is currently doing the best work in phones, Samsung's really lost what they had going. I've had a G3 since last August and love it.

Since the S5, the Menu button has been replaced by the Recents button, and it's pretty much the new Android standard. BTW, I don't like Samsung. :P

Going from the s4 to s6 I never knew that. That sucks.

well the Recents has been around for a while; just samsung galaxy line always had that additional menu button and i think you had to either long press or double press (can't remember which) home button for recents.

I see. Still, they just adequated to the new standards later, then, I suppose.

yea, i do miss the capacitive samsung buttons even tho i tend to prefer phones without any physical buttons near the screen. And i love the fact that you can hide the home keys on Lollipop to get a huge screen size

I have a P.O.S. Fakeberry thing with its own proprietary software. It is an AT&T GoPhone made by Pantech. I don't use my phone to surf the net, this thing is durable, and replacements can be had for next to nothing. I only use it for calls and the occasional text. I don't even have the internet enabled so I can't receive multimedia texts or pics. Perfect for me and cheap.

Same here! I believe it's been more than five years now. Still working, and only needs recharging once a week.
It discharges easily when on a call, but meh. I mainly use it for SMS.

I have an S4. And I'll stick with it until it dies, and then I'll get something cheap and midrange. I'm done with cellphones as more than devices for calling, texting, and GPS.

++ - I loved my G2 until it got wet in a downpour. Unfortunately I had only owned it for 2 months and had no insurance. Reverted back to my galaxy s3 which i accidentally destroyed in about another year. Then just ended up getting a G4 a month or so ago including the warranty. The only thing I miss about my g2 tho is the guest mode. Verizon freaking removed guest mode from their G4 variants... Still waiting on a root, just so I can get the guest mode back.

I've gone through iPhones, Sony Ericsson and Blackberrys... Once I bought a Galaxy Note 3 I loved it until it got stolen and then I bought a Galaxy note 4. No hate on other brands or even Apple, but this phone had it all for me and I really like it.

Well, what can I say.. Waterproof + 20mp camera + long battery life + Expandable memory via sd card.

Seriously, no complaining about this phone, just get it a nice case and a skin for the screen and you will be fine (he is very fragile), his battery always lasts at least 1 day without needing a charger while using 3G, wi-fi, whatsapp, instagram, snapchat etc. It can last 2-3 days if you don't use your phone too often. Also, it has a great price among those in the same category.

Fragile? What do you mean?
And how about its speakers, does it produce a very good sound in maximum volume? I'm worried because it wouldn't get along with its waterproof design case.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, it's speakers are awesome.

It is fragile if you drop your phone too much (it can scratch the screen and the back of the phone) not too different from other smartphones.
