Left 4 Dead 2 Beta?

So, I just checked my Steam library and I notice there's a Left 4 Dead 2 Beta there. After a bit of research, I found out L4D2 is coming to Linux.

For gaming? I'd say not quite a lot. But it'll surely change seeing how Valve is trying to focus on Linux games development right now.

They've already been developing the game for Linux for quite some time I believe. But only recently is it finally available for everyone. And the beta isn't only available to Linux but to other platforms (i.e. PC & Mac) as it includes some changes in the game with Extended Mutation System being the most important.
