I liked COD Black OPs. . Other then that I loath the spite people have against it for no logical reason. People Scream so loud, like the drunken guy hanging out the cab door Waking up the neighborhood on the way home. That being said Same goes for BF fan boys too. It's just sad when people have nothing t do but spew rage for no reason what so ever.
COD duty Killed my mother and BF ___ my father. . . come on guys.
All that said Ghosts isn't worth buying on the PC right now. . . I mean it is, without valid arguments against, A bad port. And BF4 Has some real bad issues right now.

They are what i call mindless fun, sort of like the Serious Sam series. What's the difference between the two? Serious Sam, ironically, does not take itself seriously in any way, shape or form. The COD games however, do not treat themselves that way, they (based on the demographic, PR -trailers, etc-) take themselves as though they are a genre in in of itself.
Because of the extremely easy learning curve, the theme, demographic at which the game is aimed, and many other factors i'm sure are involved, the COD series is a very eye-catching game, and that is reflected in the avg userbase who, sadly "swallow" pretty much every ounce of information of the game, and take it as seriously as the game takes itself, so it's rather easy to see/hear a 12yr old considering himself to be a pro gamer when the skill ceiling of the game is set that low (no offense).
Now the last game in the CoD series i played was Black Ops if i'm not mistaken, and i agree with the OP, it was fun, but it was definitely not a game that really drove me to think for more than two seconds on whether or not i should pull the trigger, not to mention even where. (I like a challenge, this game brings none of it to me)

Because the industry is oversaturated with companies trying to achieve the same level of success by doing absolutely nothing special and just imitating Call of Duty (including the Call of Duty developers, judging by how little the games change).
Most people wouldn't hate CoD or Battlefield if there weren't a million-and-one clones (including by their very same publishers) taking away from the other genres non-FPS-only people actually want AAA games in.

People who hate any game are short-sighted. To those people, I say: If people didn't like them and they didn't have a fanbase, they wouldn't keep making them. The world doesn't revolve around anyone's preferences. If you hate it, don't buy it. Simple as that.

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is?

To me, it is like a poster boy for the direction that I don't want video games to go. The focus for the game is online multiplayer, which is fine if you have a strong, stable connection, the skill and the patience for it. But if you are like me, who enjoy a good strong campaign/story, you are fairly screwed. Sure they have a singleplayer/campaign, but from what I understand, for the new COD, it is only 4 hours long. That just seems too short for me. Whenever I have gone into any online matches on games like this, I always encounter people that live on the game, and probably only sleep when their internet is down, or something is on maintenance.

I wouldn't say I hate cod, but I prefer other species such as salmon and halibut. And flounder. Flounder is the best.

I don't hate it, I like the CoD series, but I hate these casuals that buy the game every year, giving enough reasons for Activision to keep releasing a CoD every year for $$$. If these people stopped buying the game every damn year, perhaps they may reconsider and come with something really amazing, and innovative, like Modern Warfare was.

I like the cinematic campaigns with plenty of jaw-dropping moments. But the gameplay has gotten quite repetitive for me, to the point where I look forward to everything in the campaign except the combat.
Modern Warfare 2 is still one of my favourite campaigns for a shooter.

I like the games, because they look fantastic (I grew up with 8 Bit games, don't come with "uhh BF4 so much cooler") an because there are no OP vehiciles in multiplayer. If I wanna play something realistic, then ArmA 3, but not that imo bad mix of ArmA and CoD which is called Battlefield.

I only own one COD, and that's COD4 MW. I hope to someday own COD and COD2, as well. Since I haven't spent any money on the other games in the series, I'm not bothered.

well the COD is optimize/made for the console i mean it does not even have a fov slider. it look like shit, take no skill whatsoever and kids.....yup annoying kids.......also dogs one does not simply put animals in a fps and expect it to look cool.also instant knife kill

A bit of both love and hate for me.
Love - It's a great game, in my opinion. Sure, the campaign sucks, but the online is engaging and I could play it for hours on end and still have the same amount of fun consistently.
Hate - It's the same game every year. There is little to no innovation each time, thus most entries in the series are unnecessary; this hasn't been fixed because people will buy every game anyway, thus they can get away with milking the franchise, no matter how much criticism they get.

I do not hate cod, i do hate the fanbase (It's the same with the mobas: Didn't even try one. I don't like playing with morons. Of course there are exeptions, I'm not saying that all the fans are idiots, just a lot of them).
Also i won't buy the same thing over and over.

I think the best thing about the COD games, is that you can host a gameserver from home, without beeing forced to lease one on the internet.
I was a fan of the Battlefield franchise since it's beginning with BF1942. Battlefield 2 was the last game of this franchise i bought.
And the obvious reason was, that all that came after BF2, was money greed from EA / DICE. So no more hosting from home.
That's when i had a look what else was there, and remembered COD that i had forgotten all about. Still got the dusty original COD1 on my shelf. Well then i bought COD MW1 on Steam. I liked the gameplay that reminded much about CS:S, but kind of different than that.
Since then i bought 4 more games of the franchise.
The game i play most when it comes to COD, is Black Ops. Mostly i play with some friends with and against bots. We're just having a good time with it.

Why does Activision release a new cod game each year?
They could easily sell the same iteration without any profit loss. Poor management.

Ya know, seeing people bash Call of Duty can be fun, so can bashing it. But it can be annoying when people don't give legitimate reasons for hating it. So I want to know- Why do you hate (or not hate) Call of Duty? Now, I want to clarify that "Call of Duty" has 2 categories. 1. The Franchise, 2. The Individual games. The franchise includes its fanbase and would include the classic "Same game every year" reason. I expect it to be easy to bash that section. But what about the games? I want to know what makes each Call of Duty game bad. They're well made, albeit a short Campaign. They have tons of weapons, classes, maps, and game modes. So I want you to give me reasons for both. And if you can only bash the franchise, well then we can safely say that your opinions mean nothing. Here is where I stand:
I like the games. While I don't think buying a new CoD every year for $60(Prices are included in franchise), buying a game every few years is perfectly fine. I think the games are pretty fun, and I would play them when I could, just not buy them. As I said before, lots of weapons, maps, and game modes. It's addicting and fun to play with friends. The campagin can leave something to be desired, but I play it for the multiplayer anyways.
