Yup same here.... or maybe this was the fix... uh oh.

This is probably intended. The New Super Lucky's Tale bundle says I don't own anything and it would cost $2.99 and when I add it to cart it says I own everything and I get nothing but still costs $2.99. So like, free cash/donation to the dev as a participation award or what is this lmao?
Steam has been lazy they're going to lose to epic games. Gaben got too comfortable buying a $500 million yacht instead of focusing on the platform.

$45 down getting my family stuff so now getting stuff for me.

Main one I was playing recently was Nomad Survival but got it in a fanatical bundle for more than half the current price (took 95 hours to get all achievements and would say the funnest part was always barely passing a milestone to go grind gear and stomp for a while).
20% off down to $7.99 https://store.steampowered.com/app/3042190/Nomad_Idle/
If you wanted to jump into the deep end Dragon Cliff was my first complex incremental game and it required a lot of effort optimizing stuff but i dropped it after beating it on normal and doing some stuff in the unlocked hard mode (32 hours played).
80% off down to $1.99 https://store.steampowered.com/app/758190/Dragon_Cliff/
For something super casual my brother has been having a lot of fun showing up once a day to relax for a few minutes in Chillquarium
40% off down to $3.59 https://store.steampowered.com/app/2276930/Chillquarium/
But for actual opinions from people more knowledgeable than me i found a post on the incremental game subreddit with popular games:

Shelldiver -25% - https://store.steampowered.com/app/3862670/Shelldiver/?snr=1_7_7_2300_150_1 (probably one of the most popular games on the sub right now?)
Cookie Clicker -50% https://store.steampowered.com/app/1454400/Cookie_Clicker/?snr=1_7_7_2300_150_1 (classic)
Cauldron -50% https://store.steampowered.com/app/2619650/Cauldron/?snr=1_7_7_2300_150_1 (also popular I think might be too active? not sure)
Gnorps -45% https://store.steampowered.com/app/1473350/the_Gnorp_Apologue/?snr=1_7_7_2300_150_1 (also very cool popular game)

It’s cheaper to buy the Togges + Gunk bundle at $1 rather than Gunk by itself. Steam nicely tells you this too :)

Well, discounts are less impressive since some years, now sales are more like "a moment when everything is on sale at the same time so that you can choose what you need slightly discounted"
Comment has been collapsed.
The sale is just a normal sale, it's not the huge discounts we used to have a couple years back so it feels like a normal day as well. add the fact we don't even have flash deals so you just look at a sale one time and you don't have to look at it ever again...
Nowadays, I would argue that a random tuesday can have a better deal for you than a major sale :D
Comment has been collapsed.
Lackluster games. Low "discounts" that are just meant to make you pay premium for a shit ton of DLC. No cards to collect and trade. No badge.
Hard to see any reason to get excited about this anymore.
There are better discounts on most games all year long on resellers

What do I spy that catches my eye?
Vampyr - $3.39 on Humble (with subscriber discount) was surprising. I feel like it's always $7.99 during these sales.
On Steam itself:
The Addams Family: Mansion Mayhem - $1.99: This one is being delisted end of December, so if it's of interest, this will be a sale purchase for you as well. :)
Over the Alps - $2.59
Forest Ranger Services: Episode 2 - $1.59: Episode one was pretty good. Hopefully this one follows suit.
Icarus - $3.49: Surprising sales price drop.
Little Lighthouse of Horror - $1.79
Bigfoot Life - $4.24: Good or bad, I was always gonna buy this at some point. :)
Death Roads: Tournament - $6.07
The Apocalypse Sacrifice - $3.49
Path of Achra - $4.99
Maneater - $3.59
Maneater: Truth Quest - $1.34
And just before the sale started, I bought these, so Imma include them anyway since they're still the same prices:
Echoes of the End: Enhanced Edition - $19.99
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - $23.99: This is the bundled price with Manor Lords, which I already owned.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla - $5.99: Actually, I played this on PSN previously, but I never got to the DLC.
Assassins Creed Valhalla - Season Pass - $3.99
Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Dawn of Ragnarök - $3.99
ACE COMBAT™7: SKIES UNKNOWN - $4.79: Some people think sub-$5 for this is somehow greedy Bandai at work being greedy, lol. I think it's a pretty accessible price, personally.
Solid chance a couple edits happen as I add a few more titles.

That wasn't it but nice twist of my words. To correct you, I just said if the rest of the games from 2019 dropped their msrp and so could've bandai, but they were petty. What bandai did is equivalent to devs raising their steam price right before the winter sale for instance. It's their right, just a crappy thing to do.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's actually not equivalent to raising prices at all. Tmk, they've not raised the MSRP. Also, don't be so angry. It's not my fault you made the same bad argument twice.
That said, I don't think you were the only one to complain that 92% off wasn't enough. No need to take things personally. It's a weird position to take when you could instead simply say the game doesn't cater to your interests, but at the same time, it is what it is.
Comment has been collapsed.
I said equivalent not the exact same thing? They didn't raise the msrp but they chose not to lower with the rest of the industry, in terms of practice it is equivalent to raising the msrp right before the sale. You can disagree but nothing changes in either one to make one less equivalent. One just maintains a price when everyone else lowers it, one lowers and raises back up before a sale. The results are the same in the end. Two different practices with the same result. Equivalent ~ "equal in value, amount, function, meaning, etc."
Also I'm not angry(?seriously?), but if you want to call me out I'll point out the bs you're saying. My argument was good enough that you were quiet enough and you didn't counter it in a single way but called it wild with no counter argument. So I'd say it was pretty good. You getting offended by it to think you're gonna make a smart comment in another thread is a whole other story.
I took that position because the OP of that thread said it is a great deal for anyone and complained when I pointed out why it really isn't for some. I take it personal enough when you're wrong and you involve me. I did say it's fine for us to disagree but you had to go to another thread to make a mention of it. I might've never seen it and you just shit talk me in another thread as if you were in the right because you couldn't get what you wanted out of the other one. Sad thing to do.

If you believe people don't respond to walls of text because your argument was just too good, more power to you. It makes you feel good to believe that, and I'm all for it. Cheers!

Oooh didn't know Over the Alps but it looks right up my alley.
Maneater is a really fun game and well worth the price tag here.
Actually, I played this on PSN previously, but I never got to the DLC.
You're in for a treat! The expansion is really good. I know it's Ubi$oft and we're supposed to hate every game they make, especially the ones that have female protagonists but yaknow...

I think Ubi really does well with their Assassin's Creed DLC. At least the ones I've played. So it's great to hear that these are stellar also!
I've been wanting to snag Maneater for a while now. It definitely looks like fun.
Everyone I know who has played Over the Alps says the story variations are all engaging, and it's a pretty short game overall, which I like. I have high hopes for it.

Seems like one of the superior "choices matter" games where they actually made choices matter! (crazy, I know) and it looks pretty cool. High hopes seconded.

It certainly seems like the sales trends for notable games on Steam have changed. I know everyone complains that the discounts aren't enough, but unlike before, developers don't seem to be so desperate to sell them at such low prices. Well, there's nothing we can do about it. If you want to play these games right away, you should buy them. If not, you'll have to wait a few years and keep checking the prices. Good luck to those of you waiting for a good price.
And I'm not interested in games that constantly offer deep discounts during Steam sales seasons, saying, "plz buy my game!" and enticing consumers with only low prices. Most games seem to be at full price at the discounted price.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah I wonder how sales will go this year for those devs tbh I assume they're going to be worse. There's 42 games at 5000+ reviews rated 90% or above 90% discounts. At 80%+ rating there's 129 games at 90% discount. Or maybe people just have that much to spend despite the economy? Like with the rise in price of computer prices, consoles, etc. will people still be buying new games like they did before?
If you add that to all the bundled and free games that epic is giving lets say like Hogwarts Legacy which is around 30 hours for just the main story, you basically have infinite gaming. I wonder if valve is gonna start discontinuing a bunch of these games once their profits don't return what's expected, or these games wont be able to be bundled as steam wont give them keys for not making x sales.
I think the only reason to buy games for $20 at 20% discount when there's hundreds for $2 at 90% is that you really want it. Likely many of these games will be fully discontinued by the time some even care to give them a try and they'll be in abandonware at that point.
Feels like big AAA studios want to protect and add value to their brand by not lowering prices with the indie game publishers constantly raising their prices as if they produce AAA titles trying to capitalize more. Will this last or will the market become oversaturated af and crash?
Comment has been collapsed.
haha I get what you mean. At this point I don’t really think the market crashing matters that much to individual players
If you want a game, you buy it. If not, you wait or you move on. There are already more good games than anyone has time to play anyway.
