Hey guys,
Just wondering if its possible for someone to use their 3DS as a controller on your PC for say, a DS emulator? I've heard that you can use the Wii U gamepad as a controller but I don't have a Wii U. But I am assuming if the Wii U can be used as a controller then the new 3DS should as well? I mean, they both came out close to each other.

If you can run homebrew apps on your 3DS there appears to be a program to turn it into a wireless PC controller:

I think you can only use homebrew apps if you give it some kind of chip that looks like a 3DS game, its all very confusing but the short part is apparently it doesn't work half the time from what I have heard :/ They should just make a wire to connect the PC to the 3DS like a vita or something.

True, a 3DS is pretty expensive and some emulators are weird to configure. Good luck on dark souls 3!!

You should just buy a cheap controller and save yourself the trouble.
I tried using the PSP as a controller once and it was a lot of hustle to make everything run smoothly. It's not worth it.

I use my PS3 controller at the moment and I'm not complaining on how annoying it is or anything, its just tedious when I try to play regular DS games

The 3DS can play DS games - so you could get a copy of the game and just play it in your 3DS

I'm just going to say it bluntly; I honestly don't want to pay for all the games lol.

Lol its all good, I think the solution will just end up being not to use a DS emulator at all

It would probably be less effort to just get an old DS and a flash cart. Sure, you'd need to spend a bit, but it'd be much easier than trying to juryrig a 3DS onto your PC.
