It's to avoid rule breakers. Apparently I made the right choice with it, and I did manage to catch 8 persons trying to get in through leaked links (so rule breakers)

But rule breakers can avoid it by just clicking not received on games in their won list, and then they get access to the giveaways...

It's not quite so simple. SGtools does not constantly sync, it keeps snapshots of what's going on. If you force-sync then that will be given a timestamp, so it's easy to check if someone force-synced just in time of a giveaway.

Well for example, before my issues with my account I couldn't enter your giveaway. But by clicking not received on some games I was able to enter your giveaway... so...
PS: They're games I've already talked to support about (like months ago, but I never had a reason to hurt random peoples ratios/etc), but there is literally nothing to stop someone that hasn't talked to support from taking advantage of this. If you think SG support has the time to sift through time-stamps you're sadly mistaken. They're already preoccupied with support tickets with waiting times of up to 3 months.

It's not SG support that will look through time stamps, it's the owner of SGtools, who is not directly affiliated with SG (though the tool is endorsed by the SG staff)

It won't but if they catch you (and it has to my knowledge happened), there's a perma-ban waiting for them due to misuse of giveaway feedback.
