Is this anything to be 'fixed' ? . It's just the way it works.

I dont wanna be online hour later everytime i start app. If i quit app = its offline, no? Its very bothersome for me... if u quit Steam on PC u are offline immediately, why on mobile i must be online hour later when am offline or already sleeping or just away? :D

It does the same thing on the iphone, but there is a menu button on the left side. When you open the menu, there are two options on the bottom, "log out" and "go offline". Clicking "go offline" sets my steam status to "offline". I have to do this every time I launch the app or else it will always say that I am online. I am not sure if it is the same on the android app.

On android at least it only goes online if you have it set to start with the chat list. If you set it to start on any other screen it won't go online unless you switch to the chat. You can see if that works on iOS!

I have it start on the steam guard screen because that is mostly what I use it for and it always sets me as "online".

This works on android (for me at least) only if you click the "go offline" button a few seconds after opening the app. If the app is open for about 30 seconds or more, the "go offline" button does absolutely nothing, and the app keeps you online for ~1 hour or even more.

There is no fix for this. It's been this way since Valve launched the app, and even tho there are a bunch of forum threads about it, it will probably never be fixed.

I thought I was the only one with this problem. It's really annoying because sometimes my friends think I'm online and ignoring them.

It seems like people have been complaining about this ever since they released the app years ago. I don't know if it was never fixed or maybe you are logged in on another device and that is keeping you online.

You could temporarily add (offline) to your steam username. You will still appear as online, but maybe someone that wants to message you will see it.

I don't know if this will work, but if you think you may be logged in on another computer, you could deauthorize all computers. I think this will log you out of all other devices and then require you to use steam guard again when you log back in. From the steam client on a PC, you open the setting, on the account tab, click "manage steam guard account security". There is a button on that page that says "Deauthorize all other devices". Someone said this does not log you out of mobile devices though, so it may not help.

It should bring you to this page: http://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

Edit: From what other people have said, it sounds like the app is just broken, so deauthorizing all devices probably won't help.
