Requiem for my Homeland is a sequel to Fallstreak, which is also tagged Psych Horror (and it’s free). Haven’t played either so I can’t say whether they’re good, but if you enjoy Requiem the og Fallstreak might also be up your alley.

yes, for that price it is a no brainer if you think you'll like it. i haven't played the third game, Zero Time Dilemma so I cannot comment on it, I wanted to play something else (I'm also slightly skeptical since it is very commonly referred to as the worst game in the series)
playing through the first game (999) made me wanna play it on a DS because of the differences, it has some strengths over the port.
if you like it just based from store video id say buy it and play it, don't look too much into reviews and other material because it can be easily spoilled lol

ZTD is the worst in the series but it doesn't say much. I mean, consensus is that Danganronpa V3 is also 'the worst one', but it is still fantastic game. :)
Problem with ZTD is it shouldn't have been 3D. Animations and models are atrocious, but we are playing it for the story anyway and it didn't bother me personally at all. Have no problem recommending it to all VN fans.
Playing 999 on the DS is only better because of the final puzzle reveal which doesn't translate well to PC port, but they did the best they could given the circumstances.

Apart from 'usual suspects' I can recommend Raging Loop that I'm playing right now and which isn't that well known. It incorporates elements from Werewolf/Mafia social deduction game into the story and has a bunch of interesting characters.
