FREE GAMES on steam

Now that i have your attention, i may say what's the real deal.

So yesterday i won half life 2, good. I added the guy on steam because i see on his profile that he it's on steamgifts just for 5 days, and i wasn't sure if he know how to do it. I waited for him to enter on steam but he didn't enter. This morning, i checked my email and the half life 2 was here, and i was very kind of excited. I have to choose between download game and yes, i have steam. Good, the steam app started my steam and then it shows "Ooops, sorry.This gift have been aleardy redeemed".I tried again and then "Scanning for Steam licenses updates...". I waited about 2-3 hours but it seems stucked, i tried to restart my pc/steam but it didn't work.What i should do now? I tried to google this but nothing helped.

Actually, Atlantica Online is a fun game. I quit WoW almost 2 years ago, and have since been looking for a replacement for it and Lineage II. I cannot find anything to hold my interest for more than a day. Atlantica Online is one game I keep going back to off and on. It is a different kind of game, a turn-based tactical MMO if you will. You should try it.
