How often does fanatical give free keys

Every once in a while they have a game that can be claimed for free but I noticed that lately it’s been more rare than a couple years ago, is it even something regular or they do it whenever there’s a dev willing to give the keys? How does it work at all?

I believe in the past it was done more, even humble did it on occasion, sites even gave free crypto and paypal money back then.

The time of free stuff in life has become scarce, the only one doing it still is GOG.
