When was the last time you gave away a non-bundled game?

When was you last non-bundled giveaway, and how well did it go for you? Did you get as many entries as you'd hoped? Was the winner happy to receive his or her gift? Do you plan on creating another giveaway anytime soon?

I am hopeful that this thread will prove inspirational to those who are considering making a giveaway. It can be quite fun! D For myself, I am in the process of setting up some more giveaways, but haven't pulled the trigger, yet.

About a week ago. I do a mixture because there's bundled games out there that I want. I put Batman Arkam Asylum (group GA) up today not realizing it was bundled until I created the giveaway. Ah well...

I usually give away non-bundled games. My last bundled game was 3 months ago. Extra bundled games usually just get added to my little brother's Steam account. I do need to create a giveaway for one of my groups, though. Its been a while. Just need to find something nice on sale.

I made a few Anachronox GAs during the summer sale, just before the game got bundled. Thought I'd try and get someone to enjoy an oft-overlooked game. And then the Deus Ex + Just Cause + Hitman franchises plus extras bundle happened..

Don't care about the number of entrants, but via my private GAs I noticed that burying the links in some form of shitpost works well to keep the number of entries low..

Every few days, sometimes several times a week.
Poinltess doing giveaways for bundle games IMO, most of the people I giveaway to already buy them all.

why would one care how many entries there are? i'd consider 100 more than enough ...

There are various reasons why someone might care when the number of giveaways is unexpectedly high or low.

  • You try to restrict entry in some manner, but still end up with a ton of entries.
  • You try to pick a popular game to give away, but still end up with few entries.
  • You make a puzzle of some sort and end up with zero entries.
  • You make a giveaway with certain requirements and the majority of entries are from people who don't qualify.
  • You make a special giveaway for one of your Steam groups, and you only get one entry.

Now I can say, my Last GA had 5 entries only with only 35$ CV, and the one with the Winner to be contacted had 31 with the same CV.
I expected at least twice the amount for the 1st one. It did give a good chance to win though, with 2 copies :p
