I remember watching the first season of Stranger Things back in 2016. I felt in love with the characters, with the 80's vibe and even more with the soundtrack. I loved the second season and I'm currently waiting for the third <3

I haven't watched either Mr. Robot nor I Zombie, but I've heard nothing but good stuff about Mr. Robot, I might watch it this holiday <3

I didn't really enjoy Mr. Robot. It starts out well, but quickly gets too weird and unpleasant. Barely made it to the end of season 1... Stranger Things was really good, though, especially season 2.

As much of a "le funne maymay" it is now to compare it with high iq and all that, I honestly enjoyed the first season of it! the second one was a little less fun comparing it to the first season imo.

The third one was around the same as the second one in regards of how much I enjoyed it. Taking out all the forced memes about the show I have to say that it's pretty enjoyable <3

Mr. Robots first Season was awesome but later it got a bit more strange... Still liked it.

Westworld is pretty awesome and I wait for the second season.

Also Bates Motel got pretty good after season 1.

And yeah, Stranger Things is awesome.

I also love Bojack Horseman, F is for Family and Big Mouths.

Maaan, I got into BoJack Horseman thinking "oh this is just another ranchy adult animated comedy" but then it got to "The Telescope" and boy oh boy was I wrong. I'm pumped for the next season <3

I also just watched F is for Family, even though it IS a ranchy adult animated comedy, it is actually well done and the humor (even though might not work on a few instances) it is one of the most well-written shows right now.

I actually went into Big Mouth with the same expectations for the first two, and those expectations were achieved. It's not as bad as everyone says it is though, Me being 17 just got barely alive from puberty (still developing though) but I already got over the "sex craze" phase. Even though I got over it, I totally remember and used to relate to that phase, so I appreciate that there's a TV Show that goes all in on that phase :D

yeah i think big mouths only works, if you can watch back with a little laugh about yourself...

But def. not as good as Bojack. ;D

It's possible for something to be worse than Bojack Horseman ? I watched the first season and I grinned like 1 time.
And I'm the guy who normally loves everything.

hmm not sure. did you watched the translated version or original?
I like how it changes from a "funny show" to some darker stuff.

I exclusively watch TV in english. I didn't find it particularly dark. (South Park, Rick and Morty or even more so Drawn Together are dark and often in poor taste.)

Down on his luck and drug crazed former sitcom star everybody has forgotten about. An antropomorphized Labrador called Mr. Peanutbutter and Jelly, who is also a former sitcom star but people still care about him, as a frenemy... It just didn't click with me. But as I said I only watched 1 season before giving up on the show.

For me it was the first complete flop from Netflix I watched. I enjoyed Marco Polo, which is generally considered a flop, way better. [completely different type of show I know ;) ]

But sorry, I didn't wanna come off rude and piss on your parade ;) I just wanted to provide a different opinion for people reading this thread and considering checking it out.

no pissing at all :D

I didn't mean dark humor like South Park but dark like the show focuses depression, bad habits, burnout, broken relationships and stuff like that.

For example this:

I mean it's totaly strange that they are in this pool of jelly, she is human and he is a dog but this conversation is just gold.

  1. It's from author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... You've never heard about it either... It's perfectly understandable by me, but to Walking dead and Breaking bad viewers it's just weird and ridiculous.

  2. HBO brings certain level of quality XD It's a geeky show about a bunch of geeks doing serious business (start-up of computer company).

Oh right there's American gods too

Dirk Gently is not bad (specially the 2 cops are hilarious) but in my opinion Bored to Death is very similar and way more entertaining ;) before 2010 though but barely anybody knows it so I'm not sure if that matters

2nd season shoot itself in the leg I think. with that kind of name and british origin it shouldn't be so much in your face jokes and narration style. But core team still holds it together.)

  1. iZombie was a welcome surprise. Went in expecting some generic, stereotypical zombie stuff. Turns out it's not, and it's much better because of it.

  2. The Arrowverse series (Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl) are pretty fun too. Except that Arrow season 4 sucked. Season 5 got right back on track though, and season 6 keeps going strong even though the "flashback to 5 years ago" gimmick has ran it's course.

  3. Covert Affairs seasons 1-4 is good spy action. Season 5 tried to restart after what's basically a series finale but stumbles and fails.

  4. The Expanse is simply the best sci-fi drama since Battlestar Galactica (2004). Even if the past decade had produced more competition, it'd still come out on top.

You're the second person to suggest iZombie in this thread. With the way you say it I might check it out this week <3

I remember watching some couple of episodes of Flash, it was a pretty good watch but personally it didn't completely hooked me. But still, big ups to the guys who are pushing for big crossover events on TV <3

One of the coolest things about iZombie is that Zombies that eat brains get the personality from the perticular person for about a day...so Liv is pretty much a different character for a period of time in each episode, which leads to hillarious scenes :D

On another note:
Lucifer is awesome (The Devil goes to LA to have a vacation from hell and helps a detective solve crimes.)
Lethal Weapon (Thought this would be another bad Film to Show "reboot", but it actually really got everything it needs. action, silly dialogues, serious background for Riggs which also gets screentime every nowand then)
Chuck (Just a really awesome action/comedy/spy-drama, loved it^^ though it ran from 2007-2012 does that count as not before 2010?, you didn't specify if it was about started or ended^^)

I keep reading how great "Expanse" is everywhere.
I just can not understand it
Faceless characters without any depth
you develop 0 reference to the characters it just doesnt matter what happens to them or what they do
and if that happens, nothing else is interesting anymore
miserable actor performance
The plot is just bleak, i thought it was getting better and then the final scene...
of the first season came... and just destroyed everything (I dont want spoil...so i just say "that thing")

I only torment myself through the second season. I manage to watch an episode every 3 weeks
because it's so boring for me.

And I say that as a giant scifi fan ......
The visual presentation + sound are very nice
The setting is really great and refreshing, but that's about it

Many compare or raise Expanse to the same level as Battlestar... thats blasphemy
If I had to rate and order all Scifi series aired so far ...the expanse would be 100% among the last

I don't even know where to start - this is such a golden age for TV. OK, a random selection of things that come to mind:

Luther
Peaky Blinders
Black Mirror
Better Call Saul
True Detective
Halt and Catch Fire
Narcos
Fargo
Master of None
Review (with Forrest Macneil)

Finally, a special mention for 2 UK comedy shows which might be a little harder for you to get hold of, but which have made me laugh more than anything else in a long time: "Taskmaster" and "Dave Gorman's Modern Life is Goodish". Well worth checking out a few episodes of each of those.

• Westworld is probably the TV show i enjoyed the most in recent years (if not ever). I recommend it highly to anyone, as long as you don't hate Sci-Fi.

• Hannibal : everything about this show is fantastic IMO, characters, story telling, atmosphere... and THAT season 2 man, without a doubt one of the greatest season i've ever seen from any TV shows. I really hope they will come back with a fourth season.

• Fargo : another amazing show, a lot of outstanding characters performance, especially in the first 2 seasons.

• The Leftovers : unique and very underrated show + best OST i've heard on any TV show.

Taboo and The Handmaids Tale are some other good ones.

Don't want to make it too long, so that's my recommendation for what it's worth.
