The affiliate thing huh , i heard about it on a podcast couple weeks ago .
Since twitch is getting kinda reserved as to who they partner with , they put that thing up for smaller channels to let them have some of the futures a partner has if i recall correct .
One of the main thing being the Video quality option ...
Thing is , it wasnt sure at the time if the thing will be permanent , or just when the servers arent heavily used .

it's really nice for smaller streamers to give back something to their community :)
in my channel people can cheer with bits now, which gives them a badge next to their name and you know.. people like having badges :P
also affiliates will get a sub-button for 4,99โฌ in the future and one emote slot for an original channel emote, so it's quite the improvement for non-partners, especially since I'm still very smol :D
I had a video quality option a few times before already though. as far as I know it gets distributed between online streamers depending on their current viewer number. Partners first, then affiliates, then "normal" streamers ^^

It definitely helps both sides. Small streamers feel more appreciated and get more chances to interact with their viewers while twitch binds them to their service :P

Just two weeks ago I made my first milestone train. Little did I know I'd have another reason to celebrate so soon again.
First off; I'm done with my final exams! For almost two weeks I didn't allow myself to stream or generally play games and learned as hard as I never did in my life. I went to bed at 8pm and got up again at 5am to be in the best condition for the exams. And I'm SO glad it's over!
I don't know how they went, we won't get the results until in over a month, but I had a really hard time pushing myself through this gameless time, so I'm super excited to be free again!
Also, my main milestone: I'm a twitch affiliate now.
Now, I know a lot of people were invited to this semi-partner-programme during the last week, but receiving the inviation was a huge motivation for pushing through final exam week and I'm super excited to be able to stream again now!
Someone already donated my very first bit, the most beautiful cent I've ever earned ๐
