Now seriously, I agree with you, I got back to Dark Souls recently and yes, there's lots of youtubes videos discusing theories about the story, and even three wikis (I don't know if there are more).

Dark Souls hands down.

yeah there are some dicks but just check out the subreddit r/darksouls and you will see how great most of the people are.

RPG classics like Fallout 1&2, Baldur's Gate, etc. People are still making new content, patches and stuff.

Counter-Strike, we all know it ;-)

Garry's mod has a pretty good community.

There's only one videogame fanbase I can't stand: Final Fantasy VII.

The best videogame fanbase I can think of is the Super Robot Wars / Super Robot Taisen fanbase.

Metal Gear series fanbase. Everyone criticizes it for being so cinematic, but that is what makes it a masterpiece.

Psychonauts is pretty big! The game doesn't have like a dedicated multiplayer for people to stay loyal to. But people who love that game looove that game. Me included!

There are a lot of good still active communities. My favorite communities are those of older racing sim titles like Grand Prix Legends, GTR2 or rFactor (even though I never played rF). They still create new tracks, cars and they're still holding racing leagues for these titles. I mean, Grand Prix Legends came out in 1998.
