No, I don't think so. I was against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan when they happened. Not defending the regimes in Iraq or Afghanistan at the times, they were rotten to the very core, but the wars were still not justified.

But you can't use the "oh they did bad in the past" as a defense of Russia doing bad now. All you're saying is that Russia is bad when you do that. And what Russia is doing right now is very bad.

You're living in a parallel Universe. It's Putin who brought war to Ukraine, actually 5 years before Selensky was even elected. Putins war is always reckless, when he bombarded Aleppo for instance, the whole city was gone, including hospitals and schools or any other non military facility. A fate that Ukrainian cities will soon suffer too.

And since you know Putin is a murderer you're still okay with him, like many other Russians, you shouldn't be surprised why once again the Russians are the bad guys in the world.

That being said, I feel deeply sorry for the people in Russia that get arrested because they peacefully protests against this madness, called war, and now facing up to 5 years in prison or something. That's how Putin treats his people, he doesn't give a shit about anyone, neither in Ukraine nor in Russia or elsewhere.

This is 2022, not 1945. Everyone in Europe knows that NATO would never attack Russia. And it doesn't want to seige Russia. It's Ridiculous. That's why all of the big powers held on to their nuclear weapons in the first place. To prevent those superpowers from attacking each other. They were never to be used, only kept around as a kind of "you can't attack us" thing. But Putin is there dangling nuclear weapons around now and making threats.

Putin just dreams of old the Soviet Union and wants those countries back under his thumb. We also know that if he wins the war with Ukraine, he is NOT going to stop there. He is totally going to after the Baltic states. What excuse is he going to use there? Is he going to claim that they are full of Nazis too? He has also threatened Sweden and Finland. He's always been nuts, but he is gone full psycho. In 11 years, he will be 80. Perhaps he had this dream of going down in history as supreme ruler, or some shit before he dies.

Your national TV has been poisoning you against the west for years. Geez, many western countries were even relaxing their military spending because we never expected shit like this to go down. Now we will have to work on defenses again to protect ourselves from crazy people who still live in the past.

Any eyes on Russia right now was brought on by the full scale attack on Ukraine. Zelensky did not bring war to Ukraine. Putin Did. At least get the facts straight.

and what kind of history did you learn? some countries have edited it for centuries, crossing out inconvenient facts, what to say about history, even if the geophysical maps in the schools of each country are different, but history is the easiest to fake. from our side. there are military archives, notes from the front on yellowed, cracked paper. sometimes with such lines that it is simply impossible to read them without tears. and if this is not true, then it simply does not exist. now, and even before, Russia has always been considered an enemy mainly in the West. and now everyone is imitating the West in trying to annoy Russia by suspending the supply of products and other things, as if our whole life depends on it. yes, it will be difficult at first, but it will not hit us enough to break us.

I know and understand all this, I just don’t understand why moderation does not work here and why there is a discussion of this at all. I am Russian and you can be sure that absolutely everywhere I now meet this, on any sites, especially Russian ones. But even if the site about the joy of giving away games encourages hatred and discussion of the war, which I strongly disagree with, why the controversial statements are not moderated in any way.
And I also knew Ryzhehvost before all these events. He always hated Russians and was a closeted Nazi. It’s just that he didn’t show it so clearly before - he was ashamed. Now he is no longer ashamed.

I actually cried over yesterday's photos from the rallies. With every day there are more and more police & OMON on the streets, especially in moscow. what a fucking madness, people can't even say they're against the war.

I've just read about young women who are being beaten inside police stations and about rape threats (and there are audio recordings, I didn't dare to listen to them), it's Belarus-2020 all over again.

Remember, they have whole western media: books, songs TV shows and the magic of Hollywood to make them look look like the good guys. Or the lesser evil at least. We're fed this propaganda from our infancy, so naturally we reject any other point of view.

War is always full of atrocities, even the nice people. Look at the consequences: what happened to Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan after US finished their invasions. Did they start to live better?

Oh yes. Military invasion is just the tip of the iceberg, the first step into much much worse and long-lasting destructive acts. Yemen.

That's only one part of the story. Another would be that they were told that they freed and brought home Russians which logically boosts approval.

Not to mention that nationalism is on the rise everywhere. Thanks to Russia mostly, but people still embrace that shit as if we'd never seen any negative consequences. The US fell for MAGA, the Brits for Brexit and so on. Nationalistic hysteria and brainwashing aren't some exclusively Russian traits.

If you see statistics from a poll made by a reputable company in a country where basic freedoms are respected and people can speak their mind without fear of deadly reprisals - you should still look closely and take it with a grain of salt.

A poll coming out of Russia? There's not enough salt in all the world's oceans.
