Technically, Hospital Tycoon was the sequel to Theme Hospital but it was bloody awful by comparison.

Can we just demolish EA's headquarters and get it over with

Oh, I thought this thread would be about War for the Overworld, the true successor to Dungeon Keeper.

I have a friend who really likes it but says it still needs lots of work. Early access is looking really good so far though.
Adding link to the OP :)

EA are only half of the problem. The other half is the customers that buy these products and then rate them highly.
As long as there is a market for it, and as long as it pays well, they will continue to butcher everything to feed the easily pleased.
That's the problem when you get too big, there's a good chance your company will lose 'soul' in the pursuit of profits. In their eyes, costs go up, so they use the cheapest tricks in the book to turn a quick profit. Really, they're suffering from the same blinkers that the big-budget movie industry is suffering from. The costs aren't necessarily going up, it's just that you're relying on expensive cop-outs to sell games, rather than take risks and try to create new stand-out titles. If you go the path of re-hashing the same tired old formula, yeah, you'll always have people to buy it, but they will always demand all the prettiest flashing lights. If you go the path of innovation, yeah, there's a good chance you'll create a flop and your profits will be far lower, but if you get it right you will CREATING classics-to-be, not ressurecting old ones as zombie-husks of their former selves. EA are a company that works best when crunching numbers and doing it 'big budget style'. Games like this are the ugly gremlins that secretly operate the machinery that keeps the 'big name' front alive.
It's a shame they aren't more adventurous really. Look at what they achieved with Mass Effect. For all it's little warts, the Mass Effect series was solid at it's base, and had a real heart behind it. EA isn't the devil it is made out to be, and has produced some good things (even if by proxy). It's kinda like Jekyll & Hyde. Hopefully they'll outgrow this in earnest, because if they managed to mature and stop being 'just a business', they really could be like a second Valve, if not better, given time.

So what? EA is a shitty company, selling shitty games to their shitty customers who accept every shitty thing EA does.
The problem isn't EA. The problem is that huge bunch of idiots buying Battlefield X, no matter if EA wants to buttplug them as DRM...

So what? They took a beloved franchise and turned it into more mobile shovelware "app games". The series has a number of fans and it would have been great for this series to have been given proper treatment.
Hard to not blame EA, since this was 100% their decision after all...

I was at once incredibly excited, and incredibly disappointed to hear about this. Crap like this is one of the main reasons I hate EA so much. Oh well, at least War for the Overworld is shaping up nicely!
