Do you think even more AAA publishers will start skipping Steam as well?
Why should someone buy a Uplay game on Steam? Double DRM makes no sense to me at all.

What STFX said, and regional pricing makes games cheaper in certain countries. I usually have Steam open regardless so if I play a Ubi game, I have two launchers open anyway. Now with Apex Legends I also have Origin open as well :/ I`m not too bothered though.

Because part 1 was a good Story game with detail of love elements. Some MP gamer are saying exactly the opposite. But more mimimi.
I would play part 2 on Steam, but I think I buy it cheaper on uplay. And I buy 99% of my games on Steam. The rest on GOG ^^

I think we'll see a few big publishers stick to their own platform and every small fish use steam.
EA will just push everything on Origin. Good thing about it is I can pay for 15$ one month of origin gold access and play something like Anthem for a month. That game is not worth 60, but for 15 its an ok loading screen simulator. If you play Apex Legends, you actually get 10$ in apex store coin for paying one month of origin gold. EA is scum, but this kind of works.
If Ubisoft would have something similar i'd probably be paying for Ubisoft version access on and off as well. 15$ to play their AAA games for a month is fine. If a game turns out to be really good, play it for 4 months = same as buying it for 60$ Im sure Ubi churns out 3 games a year that I would want to play, so they might even earn their year round membership.
Next up, something like Cyberpunk 2077? I'll buy it even if I have to manually pick up the game in Poland at their studios, don't care about steam on that one.
Anyway: potato.

I think the same yes, that Ubi doesn't care at all about Epic but just needed a reason to leave Steam without shitstorm to boost Uplay sales.

Which developer ditch steam next?
-a desperate one which needs instant money from epic
Uplay existing since ages, they forced players to use their launcher even if purchased on steam, that was definitely a long-term plan.
Division had its fan base, it was clear that most of them will buy on uplay if it's not on steam and not on epic store and because of the fanbase it was an ok game to go for this decision.
many other uplay games still coming to steam because the target groups for those games not that willingly to buy on another platform, more likely to look for alternatives or playing older games.
The real big ones already split from steam, so other than minor devs desperate for instant money the following companies might avoid releases on steam:
-rockstar with red dead redemption, reviews are good, game is good so they might make it to exclusive to their own launcher. On other hand, Rockstar focused more on consoles and PC releases just "let's sell more copies" so it's more likely they will sell it everywhere.
-CD Project RED with Cyberpunk, I wouldn't expect they would do it, more likely it will be sold everywhere.
No clue what other big companies/publishers out there with a lot of games? SEGA, Paradox, but they doing a lot of strategy games and those require modding, players except mods and steam system is way too good for that one.

Ubisoft CEO said the Epic Store deal is good for Ubisoft's own store, and so far it's working out very well. Preorders on the Ubisoft Store are six times higher.
Thanks to the Epic store, people are now buying directly from Ubisoft. I think that was Ubisoft's plan all along and apparently, it worked really well for them. I think the odds of seeing new Ubi games on Steam are really low now and AAA publishers will definitely follow suit.
What you guys think? Which publisher might ditch Steam next?
