From my understanding, every person who passes the SGTools test gets added to a list. The winner of the GA in the series is then checked against the list. So, as long as you pass the test once, you're golden

Yep-- and to clarify: you don't have to enter the first GA to somehow "validate your position." As long as you passed the SGTools check, you can enter any car any time you want until the giveaways end.

Ah, that. Just a different way of using quotations to repeat something.
Like you might have some kind of list, rather than repeating the same word over and over, you'd quote it.

^ is easier to use on forums, as in sentiment of "I agree" or "See above message". Kinda lazy, but hey, it works.

Often I will enter a train using SG Tools and it will say "you had better have come here via SGTools" etc.
I will always use SG Tools to enter a train with the correct ticket (I'm no fare dodger), however, sometimes when I run out of points I like to add a bookmark to a GA so I can remember to come and enter it when I have the points. Will this invalidate my train ticket?
This bookmarking thing is a useful for me, but I don't want to get in trouble and have someone think that I jumped the barrier or cheated in some way, so if it's a bad idea I won't do it.
