You are talking about trade feedback here, correct? That should only result in a 5 day ban. Only giveaway feedback abuse is permanent.
Check out this page (shows the suspension permissions at the bottom) and click the different roles top left. Probably just have to look at the "Member" one.
Nonetheless, if he did this to you, I would just contact support about it. Haven't got a clue how long it would take though.

this person has done it repeatedly and for well over 6 months. I would assume after once or twice something more serious would be done, but I've personally seen atleast 7 or 8 if not more people he's done this too.

I have not seen it personally, but I've heard people talk of people just getting repeatedly banned for a week or so and then them coming back and getting it again after doing something wrong again. I don't think the bans get any worse if you keep doing the same thing after you return from a ban.

I agree, punishments should be escalating on stuff like this, other wise the mods will keep getting buried in support request against the same people.. especially when it's such a blatant thing. I never even seen or heard of this person prior to the neg rep.. Also the few people I've talked to who also got it, never even spoke to him either. He not only admitted to leaving the rep just because, but threatened to get his friends to neg rep me, and even went so far as to tell me he's only here to scam and I quote
"I only want to scam stupid people like you"

I've been waiting for over 13 months already to get revenge negative rep removed from my profile :(
I have 2 of them altready but I got extremely depressed at the first time I got -rep and have never actually reported the second one... :(

I remember on the old forums a topic existed where people who were given unjust neg rep could post and ask for help if their tickets weren't answered after a certain period of time. Doesn't seem that topic made the trip over from the old boards.
Unfortunate for someone to wait 13 months for unearned rep to be removed.

I think issue stems from how Moderators who are doing bulk of job can't see all the tickets. So some are up to admins and they are massively over worked... User reports are such I believe. So strangely mods can't see user reports, but can see reroll request and suspend users from breaking rules, go figure. I might be wrong though...

here goes the convo I had with him, where he admits he gave me the -rep for no reason, as well as admitting he's done it numerous times in the past... also he threatens to have his "friends" give me neg rep as well I just find it funny that someone doing these things and contributing nothing to the community would be allowed to run around unchecked for this long..

I actually think your case is demonstrative of the fact that support needs to be expanded and possibly restructured so that these things can be handled better and more promptly. I know about a guy who started crying because he was blacklisted and started to change to "not received" until people unblacklist-him. He still winning and participating in SG. I know, I know, SG are volunteers and such, so an instant response its impossible. Hell, the steam group when he started his "criminal activities" still let him be and participate xD So no problemo, just patience

I would like to see the punishment for false trade feedback be changed into something more severe. in the online world where we don't know each other personally, people will judge you based on your reputation. So how about, making it a permanent ban too? If not, at least a couple of months will do to make the violator feel more punished for what he did.

It should be technically possible to post a given reps stat.
It's possible for somebody to have all good transactions but if somebody posts 100 bad reviews you can be pretty sure it's them and not everybody else.
For example, I worked with a guy who had been divorced 6x and got mad at girls who didn't wanna date him after they found out.....

yes, nice to see a POS troll trying to ruin the community is gone, now if those of use affected by his false negatives could have them removed that would be even better, but at the very least many of us can rest easy knowing he won't be around to do it again..

Sometimes when someone habitually breaks the rules a stiffer punishment is required. From what I've seen he has been doing this for close to a year, when you allow people like this to run free, it brings down the site as a whole. . It's a form of bullying, and on top of that he was an admitted scammer as well, he told me as much.

see someone rolling around giving high rep traders negative rep for no reason, refusing to remove it and they have been doing it for nearly a year at this point. I'd suspect the person would have been banned already?
Any word on how long it'll take to get his false negative removed and or possibly getting this guy removed nothing but a troll
