I always had problems with syntax, even in my native language. Funny thing is, my English is great, I'm just lazy when it comes down to writing on the internet. I watched Angel Beats. In my point of view, it's a well-touching series. By somehow, I did not drop any tears. But yes, I was moved.

When you say you like anime, other people will link you with the image of a "otaku" who uses random Japanese words mixed with English/whatever language you speak. Liking anime isn't bad, but hiding your powerlevel is important too. Having a hobby is like having a penis. Cool, you have it, but don't wave it around in public, because other people might don't want to see it.

He doesn't really have to change his personality, but the way he writes and behaves etc. When in Rome, do as the romans do. Internet has it's unspoken rules too. Spamming (mostly) pointless emoticons everywhere and using Japanese words mixed in english sentences - that's not cool, and usually annoys other people. Other thing is facebook, if he writes like that there, some potential employers(we all know lot of them check facebook profiles nowadays) may be reluctant to give him a job. But that's for when he needs a job. Unless he's a kid of some rich guy, or some really talented musician/artist(or is working on it), he should adapt to the envirovement a bit.
It's really okay to act as you wish in front of your friends, but it's not really that okay in front of the strangers. I think that's it.

I recommend Natsume Yuujinchou, Baccano, Crest of the Stars, Katanagatari and Spice and Wolf. And some OVAs, like FLCL , Golden Boy and Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuiokuhen.
Oh, and Inferno Cop. I'm being totally serious there, it's better than 90% of anime airing nowadays. I actually enjoyed every episode of it when it was airing. Weekly dose of absurd is necessary .
I also see you like to drop good anime, like Fate/Zero, Higashi no Eden, Death Note or Gintama. Strange taste, I'd say.

Just leave Gintama for time where you watched more series. It has plenty of references to other shows, so it'll be more enjoyable that way. And it's - let's face the truth - bad at the beginning. First episodes are boring and rarely funny. But it quickly gets better after ~20th episode, and it's worth getting through the first episodes.

Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, One Piece, Hokuto no Ken, Akagi, Eyeshield 21, Kaiji, JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, Detroit Metal City and many more. You would get most of the references by reading the series synopsis, so wait a little longer before you watch this so you'll recognize them at least a little. It's not like you'll get every reference anyway.

I've never been truly crazy about anime. I watch when I have time. I buy things if I like enough. If someone doesn't like my favorite series, that's totally fine, even if they criticize it because I don't care. Some of my friends really like to put their opinions in others, and that just seems wrong to me...
