What if the person who won my giveaway uses the key on his clone account and then says it's duplicated and mark it as "Not received"? I'm sorry if this post is against the rules in any way.

If you suspect something like this has happened, gather any proof you can (including screenshots) and send a support ticket.

that person might get away with it a few times, till support notices his behavior.

if you get your keys from bundle sites, you can request them to revoke them and get new ones (or tell them the key was invalid and they usually replace them).

All depend from winner. I think you wrong right now. Current winner got lot of winned GAs and all of them was activated on his account. And he going against the rules right now, what for?

I saw level 6 user with 147 unactivated wins. Or one winner of my GA (with over 200 sent games) claimed that giftlink I generated right before pasting into SG is invalid (too bad that I didn't know that I can revoke key and request new one from HB).

So there is no rule. There were people who were considered as nice and positive, high level and all. And then they were banned for using multiple accounts and CV farm.

We talk about current one. Seems he do not break rules, he already 3 years on SG and just now he going to do this for cheap game? C'mon.

And I gave you example of 8 (I believe it was 8) level user which didn't break any rule for years, and then started to farm CV using his alt accounts. Out of the blue, just like that. I thought that maybe his account got hacked or smth, but lost this hope when his next alt accounts were getting banned.

The best course of action is to ask site from which key was bought to revoke key. If they are honest no harm will be done. And if they traded or activated key on someone else account - they are gonna be punished.

Do all key selling websites provide the option to revoke keys? I don't think gray market sites like G2A and Kinguin have the choice.

I don't consider G2A or Kinguin as valid places to buy keys. So didn't think about them when writing "revoke already used key".

Realistically, some giveaway creators will cheap out on buying game keys and buy them on gray market sites. The creators might meet a fraudulent winner who will use the keys on an alt account. If the fraud is clever enough, he or she can hide any connections between the main account used to register for Steamgifts and the alt account. The fraud chooses "Not Received", giveaway creator provides another key to avoid punishment (if the fraud reports the creator for giving away a "dupe" key), and the fraud escapes with two keys. And the scam pattern repeats a few more times possibly before mods see the pattern and serve out the ban.

The bottom line is the time between the giveaway creator showing the game key to the winner and the winner redeeming it, anything can happen. As per Steamgifts guidelines, the winner has 7 days to redeem a game key.

Honestly, if they buy from the grey market and give it away here, then running into this issue will serve as a good lesson to get the keys from sites where they can help with such problems.

Buying from an untrustworthy source is ridiculous; though, for the giveaway creator to be scammed by the winner is also horrible. Whether the giveaway creator be given pity is up to debate which I think doctorofjounalism can use for his or her next debate thread.

Friend, we are all different. I'm talking about a specific user and what I think specifically about him. I evaluate people by actions and specific information about them. And not about what others have done or are doing.

I'm just against this argument "they were fine unlit now, so they are ok". Only support knows that, as being suspended for not activating game or multiwin, and then activating game or getting rid of multiwin will leave profile as "clear" during SGtools check.

And 2nd part of my argument is that even though people were nice and honest in the past, they may start to be shitty now, presently. I don't have anything against certain user(s) by saying so, as I'm not paranoid and won't start to suspect all people for shady actions.

Why i need to write - this is only my pesronal opinion and not necessary to perceive it as the only true. I adhere to the pricelessness of innocence. Until proven otherwise.

This could be a potential loophole. The giveaway creator might have to give another key to the winner or else face consequences, for not providing the winner his or her reward, even though the creator is not at fault. Also, like Mully said, the fraudulent winner can get away with the act a few times before being caught. Asking websites that sold the keys to revoke them is a partial solution because not all sites have the choice. The other issue is there is no method to find out if a key works or not through a test; even the most legitimate key sellers sometime provide duped keys unintentionally which does not help whether the winner is saying the truth or lying. There has to be a way so that the key can only be redeemed on the account used for Steamgifts and not allow the winner to redeem on another account during the redemption process.

Official sellers/publishers have option call to information about on which exactly account their key was be redeemed.

Contact the site which sold you the key. They can (and usually do) revoke the old key and issue you a new one. For HumbleBundle, you should be using a gift code instead of a key, so HB may not take kindly to you giving away the actual code (which is considered a violation of terms).

I recently contacted HB Support because I mistakenly clicked on a reveal key instead of create gift link. They fixed it for me without issue.
