Goodmorning guys!
2 weeks ago my RX 470 8GB OC has died.
Now I've to buy a new GPU, but really can't decide wich one.
I'm oriented for ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1060 6Gb at € 330,00
If you think I can take a better product for the same money or for a little more...please tell! :D

My config is:

Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 Rev 1
Ryzen 7 1700
Corsair Vengeance lpx 2x8Gb @3200
EVGA gq 650w 80+ gold

PS: I was feeling a little limited with my old RX470 8Gb, I'm searching for a better product!

Thanks!

At that price the best option would probably be to buy a used 980Ti. However, if you are not willing to buy a used one (understandably so), the 1060 6GB is probably your best option. You could check the RX 580 as well, as it has a similar performance to the 1060.

I'll check rx580 performance, but I heard it requires higher w then 1060..it's right?

Uhm… the GTX 1060 is like 2-5% stronger than your RX 470 was. If you really want beef, then Vega 56/64 or GTX 1070 are your viable choices.

Really Vega? The damn pricing of those ones is completely screwed.

The performance gap of 470 and 1060 is definitely bigger.

Only in synthetic tests. Real-world gaming fps ranges from -2%-ish to +10%-ish in extreme cases.

Yeah, no. I don't know what tests you've seen, or whether you did test them yourself, but the 470 barely manages to keep up with the 3GB model and only surpasses it in games with Vulkan API.

You can check these generic Benchmarks (which include gaming performance)
or Videos like these:
Jayztwocent
Jayztwocent
Bitwit
GamersNexus

In most of these 480 manages to trade blows with the 6GB model, yet there is a performance gap of 10%-ish. And I'm not talking about synthetic benchmarks but rather real world performance. So there is no way that the performance gap between 1060 6GB and 470 is 2-5% and 10% in extreme cases.

Still won't really help OP too much if he wants some tangible difference. Even if the 1060 was 10% better for that 10% price markup, it is not a particularly large step forward.

If he wants a bigger difference at that price point, unfortunately there is none and I've stated that in my initial comment. However, his 470 is dead, so his only option is to buy a new one and on that price point 1060 6GB is the clear winner. I'd agree that a 1070 would be a better option, yet that's not even close to what he seems to be willing to pay.

I recommend you at least a GTX 1070.

ROG STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING is a good start. Look around and decide for yourself but don't forget to pay attention to user reviews in order to avoid bad batches of cards or those with known issues.

Good luck!

Dude that's not "a little more" XD
Just in case I decide to spend that amount of money...can you please explain better wich "know issue"? And wich batches?

It all depends on what you really need. You're the only one who can decide what is worth and what is not.

can you please explain better wich "know issue"? And wich batches?

GPUs constantly suffer from various issues like coil whine or temperature problems or other similar problems. Sometimes these are limited to certain production batches (for instance the cards produced during a certain period of time by a certain manufacturer might have a serious issue with temperatures while the cards produced by the same manufacturer after that time interval are fine).
There is no universal truth and you can only read through various forums and reviews and decide for yourself based on other people's experiences.

A 1060 6giga is a nice cheap choise and i dont think you will regret bying if you cant spend more, but if i were you would go for a 1070 after saving some more money it can go from 430 to 600+ but i think its worth it
