Has anyone ever paused their subscription, then unpaused it to buy something from the store with the discount, then paused it again? I already own Kingdom Come Deliverance on GOG, so I paused my Humble Monthly yesterday after making sure nothing was on sale that I wanted. Today the QuakeCon sale started and there a game I want to pick up. Since I paused it, I no longer get the discount, and I'm afraid if I unpause the subscription that I won't be able to pause it again after making the purchase.

It may not even matter though. In the cart, it says "Not eligible for Humble Rewards or charity contribution." I've never seen that before, so I'm not sure if it's there because I'm paused or the publisher (Bethesda) is an ass and doesn't let Humble donate to charity and stack discounts.

nope, you can't do that. To unpause you have to buy the monthly. so you have to wait for another bundle

If you bought the previous monthly, you should still be eligible for the discounts. I find it weird that it wouldn't continue til the end of the month that you paid for. You can always pause it again after unpausing unless it's after the date where payment is due. That should be this coming Friday, right?

Not sure if your discount resumes after pausing though. You'd have to try it.

There was "Share your discount" on HB, not sure if that is still a thing though. So maybe that could help :)

You're right. Actually, I might have one of those that I can give to OP.

Yes, you can.
For science, I've just done it. I paused, was presented with the following on the subscriber page

For a Limited Time, Get 20% Off The Store
This perk is unavailable due to your subscription status. Unpause your subscription to start using your perks again!

I unpaused it, have not unlocked the games (there's still the "Get Now" option), and have now re-paused.

Edit: I've an annual plan if that makes any difference.

That very much might make the difference since you've already paid for your future bundles - unlike the OP.

Or maybe I've just misunderstood them.

What OP wants is to NOT to pay for the monthly. Obviously the answer is NOPE

Yes, but he would already have paid for July, so the discount should still be active until the end of the month, or would have been had he not paused. I think what he's asking is a fair question. "If I unpause, will I get my July discount back."

I'm sending him my 10% discount anyway, just in case. ;)

No, pausing is similar to cancelling when you're on a monthly sub - except that HB can magically unpause you if you don't cancel - so it would make sense to cancel if you're only on a monthly sub. 3, 6, or 12 month subs are a different thing however.

[I'd like to be proven wrong, but then EVERYONE would do that, who's not committed to a long-term sub]

Just to clarify a few things without replying to everyone. I bought a 12 month subscription over 2 years ago when there was a really good deal, but the bundles have been shit and I've been pausing almost every month since then. I wait and pause it the Monday before you get billed. I did get last months bundle though as I did want one of the early unlocks, unfortunately the rest was shit and I'd rather have paid $12 for the one game.

You would think that after pausing I would get to keep the discount through the month if I got that month's bundle, but it doesn't. The discount goes away as soon as you pause and comes back after the games have been released. That's why I wait until the last Monday of the month to pause just in case I want to buy something.

Anyway, it doesn't seem to matter. I looked into why it shows "Not eligible for Humble Rewards or charity contribution" in the cart. It's because Bethesda are greedy assholes and don't want people getting an extra discount or sending money to charity. None of their games are eligible for discounts or charity donations on Humble. I added a different, random game and it doesn't show that message. I'm not sure I want to buy the game anymore. It's one thing if they don't want people using their discount on a game that is on sale, but it's completely shitty of them to not allow the 10% donation to charity.
