Just found out Robocop is getting a reboot

Niiice! I remember watching an early installment in China and having a light-up Robocop toy with a missing arm and exposed chest.

Looks like shit. Although i'll probably download it -in a completely legal way- just to kill some time while waiting for my Steam downloads. Also this new guy has zero appeal, him and everything else about this movie looks so damn generic, nothing more than a cash grab by piggybacking the fame of the original

This in no way looks lamer than the original.

Just like with Total Recall, the people who are making this probably have no idea what made the original such a classic. Paul Verhoeven was making a satire, not a fucking generic action movie.

A bit late to hear about it. All I can say is...

Looks like a crossover between Robocop and Judge Dredd, and that's shit.

It has potential, but they made a big mistake going for a more streamlined, form-fitting 'action bot' look. One of the best parts about Robocop was that he was literally a walking tank. He could soak the damage and disk it out, but he lacked agility in the same way he lacked mental flexibility. It's going to be harder to show a struggle between the human and robot element when the robotic side of him is agile, slender and with the appearance of a weird bodysuit. The original robocop looked like a cybernetic knight and functioned like an "immovable object", the new one looks like a shiny ninja and will probably function like an "unstoppable force". They're the same character but they are almost polar opposites on a base design level.

Here's hoping the movie is good dumb fun, though~

It doesn't look to bad to be honest, but it somehow feels lifeless compared to the older movies, maybe its the actor n the suit...idk.

Remake of B class trash sci-fi, it can't be worse than original, so what's the deal? Do you even realize that Terminator was made three years before? It isn't remake of Shawshank, it's more like a remake of Sharknado.

Agree completely. Robocop knowing who he is... Having human arms... Being colored black to look more tactical... wtf? I know it's new version and it can't be exactly the same as original, but why forsake all the important questions that those movies made, and go with "paint it black to look cool to kids". Even if it is some kind of irony, it's stupid. Also, riding on a bike, and being very agile... Well, I don't wanna rage on the Internet so I'll just stop now.

I liked the original Judge Dredd more than the newer one because it was so bad it was good though the newer movie was better overall
