You would think they would have learned their lesson by now. The HB was a step forward, this is two steps back.

A multi-billion dollar company that keeps turning a profit "will never learn". I think they know very well how to run a profitable company.

If you want games that you can mod stop buying EA games. Unfortunately for you, the unwashed masses will continue buying their games and there's not much you can do so it's best not to get too frustrated.

Actually, from what I hear "turning a profit" may not be correct. Last year they took a $381 million loss for the three-month period ended September 30, 2012, and took a $340 million loss for the same period in 2011. And this year, in April they had "hundreds" of layoffs. Supposedly they lost an estimated 10% of their workforce. I know it's not a complete picture, but that's what I could gather in the 5 minutes where this seemed worth my attention. From what I've heard they're paying for their mistakes... they're just way too massive and the the punishments are too small for it to actually mean anything to them yet.

EA is probably ruin quite a lot of otherwise amazing games with some BS....
