Hi,
someone scammed me in August, now I discovered this http://forums.steamrep.com/forums/report/ and at least I want to report him here. It was Watchdogs key for 9 TF 2 keys. The problem is, that I don't remember his nick. Is there any way to find him and see chat history? I only know that he is Russian who stole account from some American with high rep and some other things, but nothing important.

Thanks

better delete this post, mate. you're not allowed to call out users for their actions. this might result in a ban.
Steamgifts FAQ: "Please do not call out users in the forum or chat. Submit a ticket in the Support Forum."

Yeah but common sense should be used in some cases... dude have 2 f2p games which he never played... so let's be frank he's not really a user :P

But as he inn0s said delete it, better safe than banned :)

but this has nothing to do with SG or a giveaway. and he needed help.

and you really traded 9k with a guy with 2 games on his profile, and both free to play games? really? doesn't need a genius to see a scammer.

well, at least lesson learned.

and even if the guy had 400 games, don't ever, EVER, trade items for game keys.

If it has something to do with SG or not, he is not allowed to call out. Thats a rule in our community. There is nothing more to say.
And yes you're right, it is quite obvious that he could have been a scammer. But we all start small.

I was stupid and I know it, but that was his second ACC, on the first one he said that he can't trade because he changed password few days ago. He has more than 10 pages of rep+s on his profile.

"more than 10 pages of rep"

Always assume profile rep is fake.

+1 I just got one from my friend. I asked him: Why? He said: Because I know you for a really long time, and because you deserve it. So yeah always check SteamTrades reps, AND use Enhanced Steam (browser plug-in/extension) for an extra security measure

ok pretend that im from steamrep, can you prove me that you get scammed...
You can't, thats why you need chat history and trade history (and that is stupid too, since you can change your steam name and picture) and again you cant prove anything, steam too cant do anything since you didn't trade in steam trade window. Next time use middleman, but be careful some scammer pretend to be middlemans (change name and pictures). And for chat history dont know how long it stay in steam, sometimes when i add someone to trade i can see our chat history if we traded before but when i close chat window conversation is gone. You shoud be able to see chat history, find him in steam-your name-activity-trade offers-view trade history add him if he didn't block you. (try to change your name and picture before adding him) Wait for him to be online in some game and wait him to accept you request, then fast open chat window, because if he didn't block you and see chat history that he scammed you he will block you and than there is no way to add him again.
sry for my English but i think you understand what im trying to say

Yeah Steam should add a Chat History option for at least 90 days. I mean it would be very helpful. It happened to me, that I could read the whole conversation after a re-add, but most of the time every histroy gets deleted.

sorry to say but two things:

1: steamrep is useless. its useless for making reports and its useless for rep checking because it takes so god damn long for reports to get processed the place is practically pointless.

2: i believe they flat out WONT Process reports involving game keys, which yours was... so even if you had this guys username, steamrep would not accept your report.

Not useless, because they just have many tickets and don't have much time. You don't even understand the logic and being rude to it. Without this site, there would be nothing, but world controlled by scammers and sharks who rip off our fellow people. Profile reps are main thing to getting your brain on snice some ppls asking for free rep(also known as fakerep). In return i just tell em its useless, but they starting to hate me. Thats the stupid thing.

It's useless in the sense that it doesn't do anything much other than tell you whether a person is a scammer or not. You don't need to SteamRep if you have common sense though, and that's the problem with the majority

uh.. what the hell does the 'logic' of the site have to do with it? If it takes 5 months for a scammer to get recorded, then yes... the site is next to useless because by the time a scammer gets recorded, they've already moved on to another account or already have done significant damage. Seriously what the heck are you babbling about with 'logic'...

the idea behind steamrep is admirable, but they just don't have the people or the time to realise the sites potential and make it anything other than a fun little novelty.

NO ONE should place trust in steamrep at all. It is NOT a reliable indicator of whether or not someone you are dealing with is a scammer, and telling any one any different is actually pretty reckless and dangerous.
