You don't need to play the other Witcher games to understand or enjoy W3. It's a much better game than the other two also. So don't let that be a barrier to you playing it.

I have played the first two Witcher games and have tried out all the batman games too ( I own Arkham city while my cousin owns the rest ) and I can tell you both of the game series are exceptionally good.
Honestly its hard to choose between both titles ( I would personally want both, probably same as you). But if I had to choose one, I'll go for Witcher 3. The reason for that would be that Witcher 3 is a very good RPG with a deep and mature storyline. Also my friends say that the quests are absolutely a delight to complete. The story is rich and it has good reviews so far. Also seems to be less buggy ( considering the launch conditions of the first two games which were buggy as hell) Plus you don't need to play the first 2 games to enjoy the third one, though it helps make you understand some of the impact of certain decisions you take.
In the case of Batman, I'm pretty sure it will be an awesome game. But its not released yet and that makes it wary as recently there is a trend for games to be really "shiny" in their trailers and a lot of problems crop up after they release. So I'll advice waiting for it to be released before getting it.
I personally don't see much worth in pre-order bonuses but in the end that is your choice. Eventually considering the extended support and DLC practice of the company, I think Witcher 3 has the better deal.

Personally, I don't like medieval settings in story games, and I've played all the Batman games so my vote goes to Batman.
EDIT: Unless you are able to get Batman next month, then I guess you should get Witcher now.

If you really want that preorder DLC, go for Batman. Why? Simply because during the time you need to get the money to buy TW3, the game will be receiving patches and DLCs, improving the performance and gameplay, and you can't get preorder bonuses at this stage (but if you want them, you can head over kickass/thepiratebay and download a torrent file). So yeah, if you plan to buy both of them, buy Batman now and buy The Witcher 3 next month or whenever you want to, but definitely buy it.

The Witcher 3! Look at CD Projekt Red's Support of the first two Witcher games and compare that to the way WB supports its recent games, Arkham Origins and Mortal Kombat X are good examples.

Wow what a plot twist. Strange how different the situations are. The whole not fixing the WiiU version of Batman, the ridiculous amount of DLC in MKX, the very pricey season pass for the new Batman etc. Then there's the Witcher with 16 pieces of free stuff and two expansions.

Witcher 3 is pretty great and its free DLC thing is great too, i have it on GOG and im having a lot of fun.
Batman games are great and because of that you want the full experience, so im gona wait for the GOTY edition with all the stuff.

Hmm. I've never played a Witcher game but hear great things about them. The thing is I've been burned by my past few preorders so my vote would be towards Witcher 3 as it's released and has amazing reviews. I preordered Mortal Kombat X from WB and it was a disaster. It was unplayable for a week and took about 3 weeks before it was even functional in large. About a month after release it was $15 down from $60. Yep. 75% off a month later. WB has a reputation for quick discounts.
So, long explanation for a short answer. I'd vote Witcher 3 now and Batman later. If you can hold out for the GOTY you'll be better off yet. :)

Witcher 3 you will need like 100 hours to finish, and you can even replay the game with different choices. So you can play witcher 3 infinitely until you get money for batman AK or wait for the GOTY of batman
the opposite, you wait now for the launching of Batman AK, and after you will finish the game much faster than witcher 3 and not so much replaybility ( all that IMHO)
so if you like both. buy now the witcher 3, because you will play now and for more time.
sorry for bad english

No contest here, definitely the witcher 3, more story rich and complex battle system. Batman AK looks good but considering last Batman game AO wasn't real the best in the series so I keep my expectations to medium.

Witcher 3 story was awesome, a but rushed in the end, but still awesome. Graphics are stunning, combat never gets repetitive, Death March can be really difficult some times, dialogues are excellent, Skelliga is just beautiful, the soundtrack is amazing, and Roche is back! I really enjoyed the game, but please consider that I played bot witcher games before. You may not understand the whole story, and you won't enjoy it nearly as much as the people who already knows the characters from the previous games or books. But, even so, people loves to compare W3 with Gothic 2 (which I never played, but you seem to love). I can only speak from my experience, and I say that The Witcher 3 is probably the best game I have ever played (at least until MGS V is out). The only cons are the bugs and crashes reports on the forums, but I didn't have any problem running the game, and the only bugs I experienced where minor ones, the kind of bug that you can solve pressing ESC twice or something like that.

Buy witcher on Gog.com with all three games included. So you can go on with it. It's kinda fun. Batman will be on steam sale for 100%, it's Warner Bros game, and they always sold them in bundles.

Just get Witcher 3. WB is probably going to release an inevitable Batman: Arkham Knight probably-not-GOTY Complete Collection next year.

I love the arkham game but have never played the witcher titles
I say " Batman Arkham Knight " if you love batman series , it`s worth to w8 for a game that you really want to play it in its first day of release . ![ If the Bug and technical problems don't make that game unplayable ]!

If you played Batman than you know what you are getting in Arkham Knight, combat hasn't changed, chracters will look a little different and they added vehicle combat. YOu are basically gona play what you already played with a few new additions.
The WITCHER 3 seems the best way to go, quality/graphics/immersion/replayability wise. The game doesn't resemble the older itterations that much so that's a big +.

Doesn't even need thinking, Witcher 3 all the way!

At some point, you have to start triaging your backlog. Once I started building up a collection of 360/PS3 games, I gave up on the PS2. I've been tempted to give up on my 360/PS3 backlog, but its still pretty big and there's at least a few games in there that I don't want to miss.

So, I can really only grab one game this month, and want both witcher 3, and Arkham Knight. It's a tough call cause I could have witcher 3 NOW, whereas I would have to wait til practically the end of the month for Batman. However, Arkham Knight I can get the preorder DLC, and I love the arkham game but have never played the witcher titles(but i love open world RPG titles like elder scrolls and Gothic)
